Porn Shutdown documents the story of Lara Roxx, a female porn star who contracted HIV from unprotected sex while shooting a hardcore porn movie involving two men. Darren James - one of the male performers - was HIV positive - and he's believed to have infected Lara. This honest film will report how America's porn industry was shutdown overnight for 60 days as the entire hardcore pornography community - consisting of some 1200 performers - underwent AIDS tests. Tragically, two more women were diagnosed HIV positive.

Against one woman's story of naivety and manipulation, this topical investigation will show how America's right wing Administration is using the HIV scare to vigorously crack down on the porn industry in this election year. It will also touch on the debate that more regulation is needed while others suggest caution as it could drive the industry underground.

How can it be used as a political tool when the country loves porn?? Surely all the women over there cant be THAT straight laced!

I'll be watching, wasn't Jessica Dee also a victim of this episode? Channel 4 usually do pretty good documentaries, so it should be a decent watch.

I think I remember at the time of this happening reading on the ADT forum that Jewel De Nyle was going to give Jessica Dee a job working behind the scenes with her production company or something?

Saw the documentary, impressions you are left with are what a scumbag this muppet TT Boy is, and it seems darren james just dropped off the face of the earth?

I really can't believe that double anal films are as popular as was made out, i don't know the selling figures so i may well be totally wrong, but for my own personal taste, i don't mind seeing the odd DP, but double vaginal or double anal is a complete turn off and not something i care to watch, least of all pay for.

They have another documentary tomorrow night following 2 women making their first steps in porn. By now i've seen a few porn documentaries, so there isn't anything in them that i haven't really heard about before, but for anyone who hasn't seen them its worth taking a look to see just how shitty and uncaring the porn world is for most of the women that go in and out of the industry.

I feel sorry for Lara Roxx, i find it amazing that the 1st scene she did was double anal, i guess all that says is her 'agent' pushed her to the limit immediately and dangled the dollar signs.

I remember a documentary about an english girl who went to the US, and her agent was 'dick nasty' but she was more savvy enough to refuse to do certain things even though he was trying to push her in that direction, unfortunately it seems lara roxx was too naive and was unable to take smaller steps into the industry.

I saw that documentary last night. Not very pleasant viewing, by all accounts. Considering the size of the porno industry, and the massive amounts of money involved, why is there no proper governing body? Porn seems to run itself as opposed to having some kind of official guidance to abide by.

The adult entertainment industry is an industry like any other, and means have to be taken to ensure the worker's safety. If a construction worker is working on a building site they would be expected to wear a hard hat. Men and women who get physically involved in hardcore movies should be protected from HIV with the use of condoms. :2 cents:
