Was he part of the fearsome foursome? Or was he in that era of Pitt and Dallas going at it. I'm not a big football guy, but I remember when I was a kid, that the Steelers had some amazing players.

R.I.P. Mr. Harris.

Franco was their running back in the 70s when they were battling the Cowboys. It was a great era to be a Steeler fan.

I lived/live in Cleveland, but I know/knew a lot of Steelers fans. I wasn't a football guy, but you always like to see your home team win. I will say this though. I think Pittsburgh fought for Cleveland to get a team back, just as hard as we did, after Art Model chumped the city. He was a massive douche.

One of the most influential and important bands in British history, both musically and politically. Had a great run as a solo artist and with Fun Boy Three, too. A great man.
Ska. Nice. :) Though the Beat was tops. In my eyes anyway. Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger. (y)

I read an obituary which described the trauma/abuse he suffered as a youngster when he was kidnapped and taken to France by a teacher - and subsequently sexually abused. Shocking.

I was sad hearing about Franco’s passing. As a Raider fan I was always on the other side but also always had respect for Franco Harris and the Steelers. Franco was a great man who gave a lot of himself to many and remained a loyal Steeler until the end. RIP

I just saw this on Yahoo. She's got a lot of history, and I'm sure she's taking a WHOLE lot of silliness to the grave with her. She had to have so many secrets in her brain that could embarrass so many important people. But, like the consummate professional she was, she kept it to herself. She had a celebrated and amazing career, and entertained billions of people for a long time. I hope she is able to find peace in her passing. I didn't notice a cause of death, lets just hope it was from old age, and a natural occurrence, not aided by some insidious illness.

R.I.P. Ms. Walters, you paved the way for so many woman, you were and always will be an inspiration to future journalists.

Jeff Beck -- Rest In Peace +++

The conductor in Heaven has just punched Jeff's ticket ....

Here's the Curtis Mayfield song that Rod Stewart and Jeff did did together on Jeff's 1985 solo album, Flash:

If I remember this correctly (It's been a long time since I read the album's liner notes and album jacket) -- Jeff may have gotten an arrangement credit (arranged by) for this song.

So true. Very sad.

I hadn't seen that. Yahoo just had her as critical and on life support after cardiac arrest. She's back with her dad now. R.I.P.

I'm surprised she never had a career in acting or singing. Usually children of great singers inherit the talent.
