For me the muscle cars era started with the pontiac gto in 1964 and ended in 1971 where hp was rated in sae net and after this year big blocks were not as powerful as before. How ever big blocks are still available as spare parts and you can find all uninmaginable spare parts for restoring your muscle car like interiors, dash, drive train, seats, good year polyglas tires,air filter, spark plugs, etc.The last muscle car built in the 80's was the buick regal gnx, one real bad ass buick.
The mustang and the camaro are great cars.The camaro is no longer produced but I heard gm will reintroduce it for 2007.

Whenever muscle cars are mentioned I always think of the guys around here in Missouri. Driving around in their 80's or early 90's Firebirds and Camaros, mullets flapping in the wind, listening to REO Speedwagon. Ah, now that is fine living.
