Canadian Restaurant Chain criticized for not giving non-citizens a free buffet on Canada Day

Mandarin is the largest Chinese Buffet Restaurant in Canada, and for the past 4 years celebrates Canada Day by giving any Canadian citizen a free buffet that day. Now people are saying this promo is "discriminatory" and even criminal. Next thing you know they'll be complaining that "ladies night" is sexist. I mean, it's a free meal. It's not like they can't go in an pay for food at a restaurant like any of the other 364 days of the year.

I find it ironic this plays right into the anti-immigrant sentiment that some people are coming to Canada just for the free benefits.
