At the 1976 Winter Olympics, there were 37 events in total.
More events have been added in almost every Winter Olympics as it goes along, makes it easier to win more medals.
Still a great acheivement, but its kind of skewed :dunno:

But you get my point. And think about some of the oldest events we won in: cross country and bobsled (first gold in 62 years). We're a ***** in the winter games from now on. The loss in hockey does sting though. I thought we would maybe pull that one out and get back for the '02 loss in Salt Lake. Fuck.

Where will that game rank in all time games? I have it #2 behind Miracle on Ice....

As far as puck in general, or just the olympics? In all time it has to be right at the top, maybe #2. Yeah. It's a tough call. I'd say USA's '60 gold is up there, but we don't have a hell of a lot of tape on that one.
