Can I show you some nude videos? Is that ok here?

I did not click on these. I am here allowing you to read my post.

This thread doesn't seem to be going over so well. :(

I don't trust them there links up there so I am not clicking them.

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
I was brave and clicked on the link.

All I have to say is... What the fuck? There is some weird Freudian shit behind that. I just know it.

I gave up watching after the first 20 seconds of the first video. I advise you all to save yourself those disapointing 20 seconds and move along to a decent thread.

That's right listen to this guy/girl if you don't have your own mind.

Look at your audience. Look at your product.

Its off colour, photoshop on acid, nonsense. I didnt have the sound on so I cant comment to the audio track.

All I saw was a girl, Im assuming a girl, the naked chest left alot to be desired between a mature woman and a 12 year old boy. Wearing what looked to be something resembling leatherface and then what followed reminded me of...in fact Ive never seen anything quite like it. Sufficed to say, I did not like it.

I will not speak for the others on the board, but the opinions I have expressed will not be limited me thinks to my own replies.

I do not agree with DOA entirely, but that's only because the girl's chest doesn't look bad at all IMHO (better than those milking cow udders some women get these days).

Besides that, I DO agree with DOA. I'm not much of a fan of inverted colors, which you used in the first & last part of the 1st movie. The rest of the movie might have been enjoyable if, and only if I had been experiencing a LSD trip.

The second video once again features inverted colors, a girl with her clothes on, followed by a girl not wearing any clothes, followed by a girl wearing clothes again... Huh?!?

The 3rd video is the best of the 3 videos you posted on this board, but IMHO there's still room for improvement. If I were you I would have stuck with the black & white theme instead of switching to colors & back again. I also would have chosen some sensual background music instead of the electro stuff & made the girl move according to the sensual background music (sensual usually scores better, especially when the girl is nude). I would also have changed the beginnig of this clip & added a chair or curtain so that A. the girl doesn't have to walk to the center of the room at the beginning of the movie (if you want to introduce your girl, I think it's better to let her hide somewhere inside the room (behind the curtain or another prop)) and B. she can use the props (place a foot on the seat of the chair, for instance).

Thank you, but some of the stuff you mentioned has been done before and there's this saying art has no rules so...

True, but first you have to decide what you want to do:

1. Make art
2. Make something erotic (not pornographic)

1. If you want to make art, try to avoid the lower naughty bits, since people will think you're aiming for 2 if you do.

You're right when you say art has no rules, but a still life made by me won't be sold & nobody's will watch it in a museum, if I don't show the public something they want to see. That concept seems to be lost to most artists these days & they just do things claiming it's art. I truly hope you're not one of those artists.

Others have done it before. True, I recently saw a movie (twice) of a concert of Frank Zappa & it too featured a lot of things that are only interesting when you're tripping (or very drunk). The first time, I was drunk & I liked it, the 2nd time I was sober & asked my friend to turn the tv off because it gave me a headache.

When Zappa made that movie, he aimed at a certain group of people, who also listened to his music. These people lived in the late 60s and early 70s and would experiment with all kinds of drugs & trip thanks to those drugs. They would have loved this movie. Now, in 2010, only a very small group of people is still interested in such movies. This brings me to another point.

Know who you aim your art at. You posted these movies on a board where people expect eroticism and/or pornography. If we want to see art, we will usually visit other sites. I myself would visit sites dedicated to the old baroque painters, since that is the art I like, while others might visit sites aimed at the art you make. Even if they're not too happy with your art, they're still better at giving you constructive criticism than most of us are, since they know what you're aiming at/trying to do.

Also, if you make art, (& this is a personal opinion) get rid of the model. Use clay or another substance & make it move. At least you'll show you put some (in case of clay a lot) effort into it. People generally appreciate that. All we see now is a girl doing things, probably not even the things she would ever do without being asked. It doesn't come from within herself.

2. If you're aiming at 2. eroticism, please read my previous post, since those things still apply IMHO.
