Calling Chi-Town Folks For Help!

A buddy of mine and I are making a pilgrimage to Wrigley at the end of August to see the Cubs/Mets game. After the game, we're splitting town for St. Louis to catch the Cardinals/Brewers game 2 days later. We don't want to fuck with renting a car or taking a cab. Can we take the CTA directly from O'Hare to Wrigley? I looked on Google maps and it shows us taking the blue line to the Addison St. station but then it says we have to take a fucking bus to the ballpark. Sounds like a hassle. Is there a way we can take the CTA straight into Wrigley without having to catch a bus? Can we take the EL instead of the subway?

Fucking confusing for this dumb Texan....we ain't got no public transportation here in Houston!
