If there was one honest politician the whole system would collapse. No one would know what to do. Honest would fuck this country up. Everyone's so used to having lying and corrupt politicians and if there was a genuine honest politician introduced to the American pubilic, everyone would think HE is dishonest just like the rest of them, or he would have every other lying politician scared shitless because their game would be up.

I keep thinking of that line as I read these comments from the movie "A few good men".The one when Jack Nicholson says "You can't handle the truth!".
Telling people the truth is not what wins elections,at least uncomfortable truths like the days of cheap oil are over never to return and your going to have to live with less.Just whose fault is it that truth does not get support?
Plus "truth" is a subjective thing to boot.One mans truth is anothers man's BS.

ha ha. this is becoming comical. I think were just a nation of weiners. were just in a mental recession. As soon as I turn on the t.v. what do you know bush on the economy. Not my bush, my bush is good for my economy.

Even who the Libertarians put up makes me sick, probably even more than McCain and Obama.
He's a Republican in Libertarian clothing, with a voting record that is fairly poor.

I want the truth god damn it! Why can't there be just one fuckin honest politician? Is it really that fuckin hard to tell the truth?

You want the truth? Then never vote again until politicians prove they are truthful. And tell them you won't. If enough people did that then politicians would become more honest.

To commit "the crime" is one thing, but to knowingly and repeatedly commit that crime, fully aware of the precise outcome that you'd be immune from any prosecution is precisely why you'll never hear me champion this government or any govt for that matter.

And the idea that anyone could be enthusiastic and obsessed about yet another untested politicon filling the formers' chair is beyond me. :dunno:
