Bush rips Democratic lawmakers' failures

President Bush accused Democratic lawmakers on Saturday of being unable to live up to their duties, citing Congress' inability to pass legislation to fund the federal government.

"Democrats are failing in their responsibility to make tough decisions and spend the people's money wisely," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "This moment is a test."

Congress is almost as unpopular as Bush.Main reason is they have not been able to do much about Iraq. For Bush to blame them for an Immigration bill not passing is laughable. It was the right wing of his party that would not allow it to pass.He is just trying to shift blame. And he has nerve talking about fiscal restraint, guess wasting 100s of billions on stupid wars is being restrained to him.Not to mention the lives lost.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Bush lecturing Congress about failure to meet responsibility is like Robert Downey, Jr. chastising someone for taking illegal drugs.

Ok, I am surprised that this thread didn't get more responses,
I am also not defending Bush as President or about Iraq here.
My problem with this congress is not that they did not cut off funding for the war, they could have but they don't want the responsability of the bloody aftermath that would follow. They didn't have the balls.
My problem with them (especially Pelosi and Reid) is that they are extremists and I know they want Iraq to fail for their own political advancement.
Basically they are full of crap too. Just look at her face, she's not normal.

Plus the way they want to spend money and the things they want to waste it on, UGHHHHHH......
I don't know what to do...........

 this idiot has got some nerve to judge ANYONE'S job performance, why doesn't he look at himself, oh right I forgot, this asshole thinks he is doing a good job, keep up the bad work Bush, can't wait to see you go!!!!!

As long as the executive branch insists on having troops in Iraq it is very difficult for congress to get them out.The administration can move around money to keep things funded and also the dems do not have a veto proof majority at least not yet.But with the number of republicans in congress starting to really sweat about next election that will change.Give it time Bush will shift policy or congress wil act before 2008.If Iraq being a failure is good for the dems then chalk one up for them cause its a disaster that we will be haunted by.So Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are extremeists and Nancy is not "normal" lol.Would you care to elaborate? What policys they propose are extreme? They want to "waste" money on programs to benefit the majority while all this defense spending republicans like benefits a very few.And look at all the benefit we are deriving from all that spending on the military.

I understand why so many hate Bush. Its because of Iraq mostly.
You know he didn't ask for the country to be attacked, and he did what he thought was best at the time. Senators like Hillary Clinton and many, many others voted to go into Iraq and Afghanistan and start this mess.
Everybody was so "patriotic" and ready to defend the country right after 9/11. It was only after the seemingly unstoppable insurgents started flocking to Iraq and blowing people up and killing soldiers that almost everybody turned.
Thats when many Democrat politicians began to change thier tune. Some never wanted to go into Iraq, I respect that, but the ones that did and for the past few years blame it all on Bush make me sick.
And none of them have even come close to a withdrawal plan. Just blame the Pres.
Since 9/11 their have been many terrorist plans to kill us stopped before they could succeed. Some of the victims may have been you, me, or someone you care about.
Also many terrorists group leaderrs have been captured or killed, therefore preventing more terroristic activity. The economy is good, thats important. Hell I think more people became obese under Bushes pres. so they must be eating good.
Does anybody really think the country will be safer/better with Hillary or Obama in office?

Its 2007, the world is what it is, there are people that plan on destroying us.
Acceptance is the first step I believe.

Bush is not really the problem. Its way deeper than that. He's just the easiest one to blame.

Of course people were told Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Those people were told that by the administration and agencies controlled by the administration. Looking at the evidence the Bush administration either highly exaggerated the evidence about that just cherry picking things that suited them to anywhere from just outright lying about it. Maybe that had something to do with them agreeing to go to conflict in the first place. If it was different and the democrats still wanted to have an armed conflict you might have a minor point. Of course that would still not count the fact the Bush administration botched the whole planning and aftermath for the war, despite the vast multitude of high military personal telling them they were wrong, which isn't congress' fault either.

If Pelosi has things her way you might as well kiss the 2nd and 14th amendments goodbye.
