Bush Administration Seeks $245B for Wars

Yup, it's sad to see so much money poured into war resources when it could be spent on much better things... like my savings fund. :p

In all seriousness though, the United States should concentrate on fixing up their own country's woes.

Murdering bastards. It makes me sick that some of my tax money is going to this war. Do you realize what that kind of money could do for our inner cities, for our education system, for our below poverty line families, for our ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN UP OPERATIONS... or for Africa...

I said from day ONE, it was going to be another Vietnam, and now you hear all the rhetoric, that we can't leave Iraq because of all those who will have died in vain. (Vietnam circa early 70's).

Biggest blunder was Rumsfeld getting rid of Generals in his staff that didn't agree with his minimizing the damage and cost, and that they didn't need 250,000 troops, only 50,000, like everyone in the room was just too stupid to get it.

I believe this is the TV episode that had a lot of revealing information about this and other stupidities.

90 minute segment in 6 short parts, Rumsfeld's War;

Other information not yet on video, "The Invasion of Iraq";

I'll bet that for that amount of money, the government could easily rebuild every house that was destroyed in New Orleans.

I think we have a replacement for Nightfly. Apparently msn news is more unavailable to us as cnn.com. AFA no offense, but I think we all know how to find a news site...

Agree. But a successfull war give more votes to the republicans =/

Yep, they timed it well for the then Presidential election. Too bad those idiots didn't look further down the road. Like how it was going to affect our country for the next, oh...few decades.

AFA : $245 Bn is a conservative estimate. Given monetary inflation, the real cost will easily rise as the years pass.

By the way - $245 Bn doesn't include intrest rate and costs of borrowing. As such, the real figure as of right now itself is far higher than $245 Bn.

Instead of being so negative towards someone with the vision to start a thread about something interesting, why not put your negativity where it belongs (ouch) and walk out of the thread
You should listen to your own advice Reverend, and walk out of threads you bring nothing but negativity to.

cheers,

245 Billion Dollars for a losing (and illegal) war?

Give the money to me! I'm sure I could spend it much more useful...:D

Well history has a habit of repeating itself. What happened after LBJ quit and Nixon took over? Will whatever happened, happen again? (sorry I wasnt around when all this drama was taking place):dunno:
