Now I enjoyed Borat which is why I went to see Bruno but Bruno just plainly was not funny or entertaining in the least bit. Take this as a warning to any1 wanting to see it. DO NOT. you'll end up wasting your time and money.
I thought Borat to be good and funny, nothing more nothing less, but BRUNO is downright hilarious. This is in-your-face comedy to the extreme. More than one time he's in serious danger of getting hurt by people who are full of hatred and he just shows and exploits that. I wouldn't care if he really got beat up one time, because he's basically just asking for it, but the whole process of getting there and enraging people is...hilarious. And his talk show stint with the baby named OJ is just the tip of the iceberg.
Unless loveakirayui, who obsviously thinks his taste speaks for the rest of the world too, I don't wanna make a general assessment, but I think if you weren't too excited about Borat, like me, but you like Cohen's work in general, you might enjoy Bruno so much more.
E.g. that slavic accent of Borat was really pushing my buttons after a few minutes, and maybe that didn't let me enjoy Borat as much as I might have otherwise, but as I said, here with Bruno, he takes the whole pissing off people to a whole new extreme. And his German accent is just hilarious (my native tongue is German) and isn't exruciating at all unlike the slavic accent he had as Borat.
I laughed a lot watching this movie, laughed really hard, sometimes you wanted to look away because even as a spectator it's embarrassing, but in the end you have to watch it because it's just too hilarious.
All that being said I think Cohen should bury this whole concept because I don't think you can top it off, but who I am to say.
