Used Netscape 7 on my desktop computer until a couple of months ago, when I bought a new laptop. Used IE for a couple of weeks while I got used to the new computer. Hated IE, switched to FF, really like it but it does seem to stop the pop-ups.

Why on Earth would it be dying? I've personally bench-marked it against all of the other browsers and it was second only to Chrome in total rendering speed, but was only slower to render by an average of .03 seconds. Matter of fact, every credible bench-marking I've read in recent months has Firefox comfortably in second in speed.

I'd be interested to see the site you test these browsers on, as your results with these browsers could say as much about how you coded your site than the browser itself.

Fuck the problem I never even thought about. Fire fox is a little slower probably because of all my cache and shit. I upload 10+ pictures a day and shit to my website and for other things on fire fox. I made a huge mistake in my browser testing.

The four others I don't use unless I'm viewing my websites. Ugh, damn it your right. I didn't think about this.

google chrome to just surf around, but firefox if there is any heavy lifting(need for apps)

Firefox doesn't have a 64 bit browser, nor do they plan to make one. That's an excellent way to get left in the dust. I'm considering switching because it's so unstable on Windows 7.

I'm torn between Chrome and Opera. I love them both. Speedy, light weight, and Opera 10.50 is getting some good feedback with its browsing speed. I've ditched FF, I just found it to be kind of a resource hog and it had a lot of memory leaks.

IE is okay for me, but I did use FF in the past on my old dead comp.

I personally test all five browsers on my site to find technical glitches. I find that some of them load faster and one loads slow at first, but once it's read the site for the first time it loads it at an unimaginable speed.

Safari - Great load times, very fast, but the look is enough to drive me insane. I hate mac computers and most of macs products. This is a personal choice.

Google Chrome - The fastest growing web browser currently. It has great load times, a very nice look, and it's made by a company that makes me happy all the time from day to day by making the internet so easy to use.

Firefox - dying browser in the future if they don't change their ways. Load times are slowing down, but for personal preference I prefer it for it's look.

Opera - WTF it's so slow the first time loading a website... I wonder why though, but wtf it's not changing the page at all or is it? It loads my website so fast that I don't even notice it change to the next page. It loads all the information at the start and remembers it making the next page almost instant. It's unbelivable to me. It looks like Google chrome in my opinion and it's definitely not a name I can relate to. It's amazing for javascript, but doesn't have enough pizzazz for me.

Internet Explorer - Seriously could microsoft piss me off anymore. I love microsoft and use many of their products, but it's probably the slowest browser you can find. Seriously from the company I love over mac computers? It's a piece of shit seriously I'd rather send a rock in the mail with a message on it to find a search result.

What do you guys prefer. If anyone cares to comment.

Have you ever tried out Flock? That's another good one to take out for a test drive

Firefox, sure it might be slow when I start it up, but that's it, so I take Firefox:thumbsup:

I asked myself: "Which browser would Jesus use?". I found the answer in the holy bible, in the Epistle of Jude, second chorus: "Hey Jude, don't be afraid!"

So I kept the preinstalled Internet Explorer.

Firefox, good combo of speed, features and user friendliness. I tried Chrome but couldn't get on with it. And anything with private browsing is a must!
