I personally test all five browsers on my site to find technical glitches. I find that some of them load faster and one loads slow at first, but once it's read the site for the first time it loads it at an unimaginable speed.

Safari - Great load times, very fast, but the look is enough to drive me insane. I hate mac computers and most of macs products. This is a personal choice.

Google Chrome - The fastest growing web browser currently. It has great load times, a very nice look, and it's made by a company that makes me happy all the time from day to day by making the internet so easy to use.

Firefox - dying browser in the future if they don't change their ways. Load times are slowing down, but for personal preference I prefer it for it's look.

Opera - WTF it's so slow the first time loading a website... I wonder why though, but wtf it's not changing the page at all or is it? It loads my website so fast that I don't even notice it change to the next page. It loads all the information at the start and remembers it making the next page almost instant. It's unbelivable to me. It looks like Google chrome in my opinion and it's definitely not a name I can relate to. It's amazing for javascript, but doesn't have enough pizzazz for me.

Internet Explorer - Seriously could microsoft piss me off anymore. I love microsoft and use many of their products, but it's probably the slowest browser you can find. Seriously from the company I love over mac computers? It's a piece of shit seriously I'd rather send a rock in the mail with a message on it to find a search result.

What do you guys prefer. If anyone cares to comment.

Why on Earth would it be dying? I've personally bench-marked it against all of the other browsers and it was second only to Chrome in total rendering speed, but was only slower to render by an average of .03 seconds. Matter of fact, every credible bench-marking I've read in recent months has Firefox comfortably in second in speed.

I'd be interested to see the site you test these browsers on, as your results with these browsers could say as much about how you coded your site than the browser itself.

i use IE for work (accesing the intranet -handles javascript better-) and FF for browsing the web (looking for porn, mail, etc)

Using Ubuntu, I'm limited to Firefox or a few other open-source browsers which I've never tried. I've been a Firefox user since I had Windows installed, I had tried Opera and disliked it. Haven't had a chance to try Chrome. Obviously, IE is out. I used Safari at an old job for Mac, and like the thread starter, really dislike the look of Mac products.

Safari is by go to browser, no real problems with it. I tried Google Chrome, but I have some trouble with some sites for school. I'll give it time to get better and be recognized more. I like that FireFox has that built in Ant bar so you can save streamed videos, thats a huge plus.

Firefox has a lot of usable add ons... that will surely make your web browsing fun and easy. Though sometimes these add ons can cause headaches...

IE works good for me but I also use Firefox, it has some nice addons. Opera is also pretty good but I had some little issues so I switched back to IE and Firefox.

Firefox. I haven't been real happy with its performance in recent months but it is very user friendly and I am so used to it that to switch to something else would be a major hassle.

Firefox. I had some issues with the newest version. However, once I got rid of yahoo toolbar, it is working 100% as it always did for me. :D
