My take; One of Trump's greatest strengths is that he bucks conventional wisdom, in this particular case disregarding the maxim that, "it's not personal, it's business". Unfortunately a strength can also be a weakness when taken to extremes. Politics is a different beast than straight business, similar, yes, but different as Trump has been learning. I think seeing Obama maneuvering into a position of direct opposition was too much for Trump to take personally and he exploded and lashed out the way we've all grown used to. Is there any merit to Trump's wiretapping accusation? Nope, and Trump is picking the wrong hill, Obama will turn out to be his worst nightmare if he runs his predictable playbook.

I'm sure that you have read the statements of Senator Burr (R-NC) who says that Representative Nunes "just created" the unmasking (non-)controversy. From what Senator Burr says, the unmasking charge has been made for political purposes ... by Republican water carriers for president* trump.

I've read statements by Republican committee heads saying that there is no merit whatever to these frivolous charges. Rice has now testified and we've heard nothing much about it ... likely because the NSC saw traffic from well-known Russian government/intelligence figures to members of the trump campaign, according to Fox, NBC, and CNN.
