I was skeptical about a Blade Runner sequel. A masterpiece doesn't need one. I mean there never was a Citizen Kane 2. At least not released.

But I'm not gonna lie, I'm hyped.

That's what they all say. Ever seen a movie with commentary by the cast? "Best experience of my life", "This director is amazing", "Never saw anything like this before"... I will remain skeptic, especialy since I'm getting tired of all these remakes and sequels

I remember watching Nicolas Cage on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno pretty much saying the same thing about The Wicker Man remake.

That may be the case here as well but I can't imagine Harrison Ford saying the same about the Indiana Jones Crystal Skull script, especially after the nuked the fridge scene, which has replaced jumped the shark.

I'm looking at the cast and like the lineup.

Denis Villeneuve is directing and he did a splendid job with Sicario (2015).

I'm just glad it's not a reboot. I would've gone Roy Batty at that.

Could be a gray area. Sometimes there's not that much difference between a reboot and prequels / sequels / spin-offs / remakes / trilogy / pentalogy / heptalogy / whatever-number-logy...
Like you said a masterpiece doesn't need a sequel but since they are going for it let's hope for the best.

There was a sense of [nobabe]deja vu[/nobabe] wasn't there? After the Lucas prequels debacle, I don't mind one bit the series getting back to what made Star Wars ... Star Wars, if a soft reboot.

And watching it, I almost forgot that Darth Vader built C3PO when he was a little kid, almost. Talk about your six degrees of separation.

Hopefully the direction and editing are on par with the script.

Oh I talk a lot of shit about The Force Awakens. Its a crap movie made by committe, and it shows. The prequels were far better. In fact, I had to watch episodes 1-6 (more so the prequels) for about two weeks to get the bad taste of that godawful movie out of my mouth.

Darth Vader built C3PO. The storm troopers were clones of Boba Fett's DAD lol. Yoda knew Chewbacca. What a small galaxy.
I'm not saying The Force Awakens is some paragon of story telling, but it's hokiness can't even compare to the prequels. Thanks George Lucas, but Disney's got it from here.

Just to re-emphasize - Darth. Vader. built. C3PO.

I'm spoiler free, so no idea if Harrison will be in there, but I think in this one he should be. I wasn't too impressed with him in the last Star Wars movie, but I get it, fucking Han. Thought that movie was pretty meh but anyway.

I am big cyberpunk fan, so this one I will check out. I just hope it doesn't blow total ass. Prolly will wait for DVD or something.
