Until I was older, I didn't realize how much a pregnancy and breast feeding affected the size of a girl's nipples and areolas. A girl I knew in high school had small pink areolas and smallish, almost flat nipples. We hooked up again after college and she'd had a kid. Her areolas covered almost the whole top of her (now larger) boobs, they were more of a tan/brown color and her nipples were (fantastically) long and plump.
