Best & Worst Airlines

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Ok fellow travelers....I want your opinion. I spend a LOT of time on the road with my job. Most of it is domestic (USA) but I do fly on foreign carriers once in a while. I'd be interested know what others think the best and worst international and domestic airlines are (the country you're from doesn't matter). From my experience, here is what I think:

Best Domestic: Continental (great service, friendly & helpful)
Best International: Thai Airways (man! talk about being pampered!!!)

Worst Domestic: Delta (does ANYONE at this airline give a shit about ANYTHING?)
Worst International: TACA (they don't call it "take a chance airlines" for nothing)

Lemme hear ya....

:glugglug:

Best Domestic: Continental (although I'm from the UK, traveling in the US I always use Continental) - very rarely delayed, wonderful service, friendly and extremely helpful.

Best International: Kuwait Airways (Not sure if they still run, last time I flew with them was a while back!) - excellent service, high standard airplanes, and LOTS of leg room.

I'd stay away from 'Air-Beirut' thy only seem to fly one-way & their views and attitude towards the air service industry is revolting.:wtf:

I've only ever flown with EasyJet and BMI, neither being particularly great. Let's just say you get what you pay for..!

I've never had any bad experiences with Delta. Good airline, even if they are going through bankruptcy due to their pilots' ridiculous salary demands.

British Airways has been my fave so far. I was treated very well by the flight attendants, the food was good, and we were actually ahead of schedule on my flights with them. Good times! :nanner:

I have only been on an airplane once and that was on my honeymoon. We used Air Jamaica, it was pretty cool. Oh and we used continental, because we had to go to Atlanta and there we used Continental to get to houston.

Out of the 6,000,000,000 people on this earth, I think 5,999,999,999 have a different opinion on Delta than you. Delta is not only the worst airline on the planet by far, it is the worst company on the planet. I've never had an experience with Delta where something didn't get absolutely totally fucked up beyond all recognition. Just this past Sunday I was returning from visiting my parents, and I had to switch planes in ATL. I had a layover of an hour and 10 minutes, so I was fine. We land in ATL as scheduled, only one small problem, the pilots forgot to fill out the proper paperwork so we didn't have a gate. So we're sitting on the runway for 90 minutes. Needless to say, I missed my connection. Almost as bad as the time we once had to make an emergency landing in Orlando because some dumbfuck put dry ice next to a dog down in the pet compartment, and so that little unplanned stop also caused me to miss my connecting flight. I literally have countless other stories of lost luggage and rude jerk off flight attendants, but I think everyone gets the point. If you fly Delta chances are you will get fucked. They should change their slogan from "We love to fly and it shows" to "Bend over and grab your ankles."

I have only been flying domestic with SAS so thats the only airline I know of,although Thai Air looks impressive.

Anybody has any experience of Easy Jet?
I have only seen them on tv on Airport.

Just wondering that nobody has metionend Emirates Airlines so far..they have one of the best fleets..they have 777, A340-600 (very luxury) and of course they have ordered about 40 A380:)

Best Airline: Austrian Airlines:D (one of the less airlines with no bigger plane crash:cool: )

Worst Airline: Vaso Airlines  just look at this : http://www.airliners.net/open.file?...fp&photo_nr=3&prev_id=1025605&next_id=0957790

and that was not not the only near-disaster of them.

It's good to be the king...
Best: Virgin

Not so much worst (more cheap 'n cheerful): Easyjet, Ryanair

Best - Thai

Worst - Gulf

As Om3ga says Ryanair etc are cheap and cheerful - they aren't pretending to be anything other than basic and as a regular traveller with Ryanair I'm very happy about the new charge for bags - but maybe that's because I rarely check any in.

It just shows how we were being ripped off before deregulation.

I agree 100%. Anyone who defends Delta as being a good airline must haved been extremely lucky or not fly very much. I have so many horror stories about stupid fuckups and "I don't give a fuck" attitudes from their asshole employees that I could write a fucking book. Now, I avoid Delta at all cost. Horrible airline beyond question.

If flying in Canada with some US destinations - Westjet is the way to go. Very similar to Southwest.

When I fly in the US, it's usually on Northwest and they seem inconsistent but never more than just OK.

Southwest has always been great.
Aero Mexico treat's you like a king!

ATA kinda sucked. Are they even around any longer?
