I was just trying to figure out who my favorite movie characters were in the following thread.

While doing so, I realized that three of my favorite characters were salesmen. This got me thinking. Which of these guys would be most likely to sell you something - even if you weren't sure you needed it?

Jim Young (Ben Affleck's character in Boiler Room) - This guy showed total confidence in his ability to close a customer. Could he close you?

Blake (Alec Baldwin's character in Glengarry Glen Ross) - Another guy who is about as cool as they come. He can probably handle just about any objection you could possibly come up with.

Tom Callahan Jr. (Chris Farley's character in Tommy Boy) - He struggled at first, but finally "found his style" in sales. Could his personality win you over? How about if he lights something on fire on your desk?

You forgot Don "The Goods" Ready from "The Goods." And Willy Loman.

It's a tie:

Robert Preston in The Music Man

William H. Macy in Door To Door

Oh I get it. He's a low man.

No you don't, STD. Willy Loman is the subject in "Death of a Salesman."

And if someone's going to mention "Glengarry Glenross" they shouldn't forget old Gil.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Not a great movie, but a good performance by Robin Williams in Cadillac Man.

But from the choices above, I'd go with the Alec Baldwin character in Glengarry Glen Ross.

That salesman pretending to be a spy in True Lies.

Hilarious when he pees himself. :hatsoff:
