Best Current NFL Player

Since not many teams are currently playing, you have to go with Peyton Manning for being so cerebral, not necessarily athletic.

JaMarcus Russell

Best is such a personal thing.. depends what people value more. Many people worship the QB position because the game is so dependent on them, but there are 10 other guys on the field as well making them who they are. Fantasy Football certainly skews this question for people as well.

The best in the game is tough. There is no definitive best since each position calls for such unique skill sets.

Peyton Manning, Antonio Gates, Wes Welker, Chris Johnson, Jared Allen, Jon Beason or Darrelle Revis. Can't name an offensive lineman since they are faceless, nameless, bad-ass stockades for their respective teams. I can't pick - please don't force me to!

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
The correct answer is Peyton Manning. He wins on a consistent basis regardless of who you put around him. ~Whimsy~ could be his #3 receiver and he'd probably pull down decent numbers. Peyton makes those around him better and he's a great leader. Only three games to go until the Lombardi Trophy returns to Naptown. Go Horse!

Thats a difficult question because alot of players contribute in different positions!

Like basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer & sports as such, these players play both offense & defense!
Football has a set team Offense & Defense!

So its hard to pick jus 1 player cuz that player might only play on 1 side of the ball!

If you taking about this very moment with no other factors added in then it's Peyton Manning. He will probably even be the best for some years down the road considering he's not showing the sings of aging like other great quarterbacks in the past at this point.

On the other hand, if it's somebody you would want to start to build a whole new team around to have the potential to create the next dynasty it might be better to have somebody younger like Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, or maybe even Jay Cutler if he gets is act straitened out since Manning is already in his thirties, and even he will get old someday.

The answer is probably Peyton but for all his regular season wins, he has problems with the big game and it's Championships that athletes are judged by.

He's only made it to two Conference Championships and lost one of them. His playoff record right now is 7 wins and 8 losses. Three of the last four seasons the Colts were one-and-done in the playoffs.

Tom Brady on the other hand has a playoff record of 14-4 including winning his first 9 post-season games.

Peyton needs a few more rings and going for the perfect season this year would've been a good feather in his cap.

But as of right now, despite missing all of last season and having a so-so season this year...my money is on Brady.

There is no answer to this question. You can't difinitvely say who is the best at any one position, much less in the entire league. You can't even go position by position because of different schemes on different teams. If you had some kind of program to sift through all of the statistics to come up with an answer it would probably come up with a linebacker.

Peyton Manning
Troy Polamalu
Patrick Willis - How did he not get any voted for DPOY? Led the league in tackles and had 4 interceptions as an LB. He is a monster.

I agree with everything you said

This is going to turn into a Brady vs Manning thread. Brady isn't even the best at his position. Unfortunately nobody will take Manning and his records seriously until he wins another ring.

After Manning retires, the only person that will even be close is Joe Montana.
