Best Current NBA Player

maybe.

but Kobe didn't win him for Shaq either, buddy.

by the way, nice writing, STDiva :hatsoff:

if we're going to go into the MJ vs Kobe shit... well... i would like to say something about that.

a sneak peek: Kobe is great, yep. Best in the league right now, yes. Best in the past years, yes.
Near Michael in the throne of THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE NBA ? read my lips: NOT A FUCKIN' CHANCE.

but i won't go into details (that is: statictics)...

i just hope you're aware of that.

I'm not saying Kobe won them for Shaq either. I'm saying the Lakers won them.

I'm also not saying Kobe is better than Jordan. Jordan is the GOAT. No argument from me. :glugglug:

The one and only.
I believe the Diva said Kobe was top three after Jordan and Wilt. That doesn't imply that he was better. Jordan is the greatest offensive player of all-time. Fact. Kobe and Shaq each have a title without the other. They were both center pieces of the team and equally important.

All that being said, if I have one shot left in the game, I'm giving the ball to my boy - Reggie Miller. Nobody was as clutch as he was coming off a screen. Ask the Knicks, they'll vouch for that. Reggie was Mr. Clutch. Definitely my favorite player of all-time.

no shit.

last time i check basketball is a team sport.

So why do you treat it like a one man sport?

Jordan, (almost) BY HIMSELF

not even close, my dear friend.

"best in the league" ? c'mon, he was living out of his fame of past jordan years. I remember when michael retires, i still rooted for the bulls... until i realized there was no point on that. Pippen was great and all, but it wasn't one of the TOP stars of the league at that time.

Let's see his numbers when MJ retired (the first time):
22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals
top star? nah...
of course, he went to the All-Star game and stuff, but when you have to deal with a shadow as big as MJ, you're nothing.

And was 3rd on MVP voting.

and THAT is enough for someone supposedly as great as him ? pufff.....

Why not? Every great player loses in the 2nd round.

I do. They do. Everybody does. OF COURSE HE WOULD!
Let's be realistic for a minute: what's the probability to find another Pippen?
pretty high, mate.
what's the probability that MJ won ANYTHING ? pretty fuckin' high. Statictics don't lie.
read the post of JacknCoke.

But did they win a title without Pippen? NO!

and you call yourself an MJ fan ?

hmmm...

Yes!

I think you're totally missing the point. My point is you can't discredit every great player a ring, just becuase they played alongside another great player. Becuase if we did, no one would have a ring.

So just calm down. I think Jordan is best player to ever play the game, but did he ever win a title without Scottie? No. But does that take away any of his greatness. No

I thought this was going to descend into a Kobe v Shaq flame war. I didn't see the Great Aristotle making an appearance in a thread with "current" in the title....:dunno:

Apparently you can't call Kobe the best without trying to discredit 3 of the titles he's been part of.

^
Shit I think I need glasses. I meant Kobe v Lebron....

I think Shaq will go down as one of the greatest ever, but greatest doesn't mean talented. Kobe is one of the most talented players ever.
