I meant to put this up the other day and forgot.

I think this was a ploy to panic the uninformed public. I guess somebody had to be first :dunno: but I think a bit more publicity on the subject first would have helped. The information I know has been out there for sometime, but let's face it was more readily available on geek sites and tech news. Not all of us keep up with the electronic world.

Oh and about those two $40 coupons we are to get from the government. Here's an interesting little addition of information to add to the pot.

Congress has allotted $990 million for the program, and can increase it by $510 million if necessary.

What a waste of funds once again. Do you know what we could do in this country with that kind of money if spent on something needed? Health care, food, training for jobs. I'm sorry but I think people should find their own way to afford them. They are only to be between $50 and $60. I wouldn't want the government giving me a coupon. I will save for one, just like I save for anything else I want. Why should our tax dollars pay for this?

Very good post LL!!!! :thumbsup: Stuff like this ticks me off BIG TIME!!! Here's another tidbit. We all have computers, say you have a newer model running Windows Vista, an elderly relative or friend out of state is using Windows Me, 98SE or 95. And you have a Pic of say your new *****, grandchild, house, etc. You can send it to them, but they won't be able to open it. If done in reverse, there old program to your new Vista, you can open it. I've been telling all my friends to buy External Hard Drives to store older info & Pic's to use in the future. As of now, Best Buy, Circuit City does NOT Stock a External Hard Drive that can use the Fat32 file system, I know, I just got two more 500GB Drives from CDW. The Rich Get Richer, The Poor Get Poorer, Or Do Without!!! Great Job AmeriKa!!! We're becoming a third world country.

When it goes down, the whole switch over to digital television is going to go over like a ton of bricks. I like the commercials they have now where they say they are switching because it's better. What they don't tell people is they are switching so they can hand over the frequencies that television channels are using now to private businesses so they can use them for their personal use. There are going to be a lot of people that are going to be pissed off when all the televisions they have around won't pick up reception anymore.

I agree with then spending the money reimbursing people they are about to screw over. The people in charge didn't really think this one through on the other hand. Or they did but they listened to business interest only.

I'll be making the jump to a digital TV in the next few months. Mostly for video games. But I've seen discovery channel on HD and all I can say is:eek:

But I also feel that ******* the issue is complete bullshit! People should be allowed to chose if they want to front the bill for a digital tv or keep their old analog one!

Whatever happened to choice? Oh wait that's right we don't have that anymore!
