Gay or Straight? Should they tie the knot?

Seeing as how the creators of Bert and Ernie have time and time again asserted that Bert and Ernie are in fact not homosexual, this is a non-issue.

I think its pretty reasonable to assume that the creators of a story or character have the final say in these matters, as it is their sole right to determine basic facts about the story/characters which they have created.

Saying B&E are gay, in the face of the creators, who maintain that they aren't, is like saying the character of Jim in Huckleberry Finn isn't black. The creator has deemed what their characters are and aren't, let's leave it at that, because, really, we don't have any say in the matter.

Long story short, no. They should not get married.

I support gay rights but every time I read or hear about something like this it really makes me want to stop supporting the gays. My main problem with the gay community is that a large amount of them try so hard to make everyone gay. It is really annoying.

The issue of sex, gay or straight, has no business being on Sesame Street.

The muppets are obviously not gay and even if they were based off a gay couple the target audience of Sesame Street is way to young to even begin to understand what being gay is. They make adult references in TONS of children shows and movies nowadays.. Look at Spongebob! That's full of adult humor that children can't understand. If anybody who is old enough to understand homosexuality is watching Sesame Street you can almost guarantee that it's because they smoked way too much weed and now they can't stop laughing every time snuffaluffagus talks.

(off topic but my first word was Ernie, well really E. I had a stuffed Ernie doll from the time I was born and carried it around with me for years.)
