Bernie Madoff Gets 150 Years in Prison

It's good to be the king...
Heh, if he was an MP over here, all Bernie would have to do is say sorry, hand some money back and decide to step down at the next election "to spend more time with his family"....:D

Re: Bernie Madoff Gets 150 Years in Prison

Now, if only we the taxpayer(s) could have the wherewithal to find out about the actual whereabouts of twin tax payer obligations :

A) The first $350 Billion Dollar lump sum in so called "too big to fail corporate bailout" funds or, as Hank Paulson had coined it ,"liquidity".

and

B) The second $350 Billion assumed by the barack obama administration.

OK ? Now that's $700 Billion right there in future debt that the American tax payer has to pay back with interest. The most important thing to make note of is that the government will not disclose how this money was or will be allocated.
Am I the only one in the world that isn't furious about this ?

Maybe they just gave it to Michael Jackson to hang onto. :( :dunno:

Could this have been the world's largest bank heist ?
You bet !

He took the fall for his kids and employees. And that's too bad. By pleading guilty he prevented the Feds from going after the other criminals who were obviously complicit. He sent out trading "results" quarterly. Is anyone so naive that they believe he manufavtured these without anyone knowing? Please.

The rest of his rotten gang need to join him in jail.

I just dont get how even jail time, let alone 150 years, does justice for this guy? How does that bring closer to his victims? It doesn't, they are still broke living off food stamps and digging out of dumpsters.

And does Bernie Madoff really need to worry about prison? No, because its white collar. He is basically just retiring off tax payers money, 3 meals a day & a lot of book reading.

150 years
This is ridiculous. I mean, sentencing someone for more than he' gonna live.
Sentence him to spent all his life in jail, and that's it.

It's a 'white-collar' crime; I have a feeling his back is gonna be perfectly safe. He's done well for himself - even now.

Exactly, white-collar prison is a retirement home. He will spend the rest of his life being waiting on hand and foot - and our taxes pay for it.

Apparently he CHOSE the 150 year sentence. He was offered a) 150 years or b) to be set free, but he had to walk home, without the aid of any security.

I think he made the right choice.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. What you're calling "white collar prison" is generally a minimum security facility, for people who've received relatively light sentences. Bernie got 150 years. The story that just came across Bloomberg said that he's most likely going to be sent to a maximum security prison... with violent offenders. His lawyers are concerned that if he's sent to a maximum security prison, an inmate might shank him or kill him to make a name for himself... like with Jeffrey Dahmer.

So from what's being said, ol' Bernie boy is probably looking at doing hard time. No Club Fed for him. Poor Bernie. But maybe he can have Ruthie teach him how to give blowjobs and he'll be OK. :)

He is actually going to a medium security prison due to the amount that he had ripped people off. So he won't be in a minimum security prison. At least that's what cnn had reported

Here is a funny clip from The Daily Show talking about it

"He actually chose the 150 years. The Judge said either the 150 years, or he could be set free and try to walk home unaccompanied by any security." LOL, I love it

What exactly does the S.E.C. do ? lol

Since Shana Madoff married one of the lazy bastards, apparently it's a good place to meet a wife from a wealthy family.

I guess for access to some secret bank accounts containing billions of dollars, I'd fuck her. Hell, I might even be able to talk myself into enjoying it. What do you guys think? Would you do this princess for a billion or ten?

Hey, baby... let's cut the lights out, OK?

good riddance. If you want to invest, then invest in real estate, muscle cars or vintage Rolex or Patek Philippe Watches, they bring you a much safer and quicker revenue than the stockmarket.
