Beers prices where you are?

Pints are $5 where I drink.

Case of cheap beer $24-$30 Carling, Rolling Rock.
Case of premium beer $38-45 Keith's, Guinness

That was one alarming thing I noticed about Canuckistan: they gouge the shit out of you when it comes to beer. For example, a six pack of Red Stripe in San Francisco (which is very expensive by American standards) costs $5.99 at the grocery store. In Vancouver, that same six pack costs $15 bucks. A six pack of Corona, which is about $7.99 here, costs $17 bucks over there. I would definitely not fare well living there.

beer tax?

Dumbo Gov here want to put minimum pricing into effect with regards to alcohol. It's seen as a way to discourage underage drinking... just really the authorities failing to implement it's own laws accordingly! I think Scotland introduced a similar law recently too!

Hmmm... I don't know if I'd consider having Korean beer a "benefit", but I suppose I can't knock it until I've tried it. After all, one of my favorite lagers, 33 Export, comes from that part of the world.

Speaking of Asian beers, have you tried Asahi Kuronama? That's about the best stout made east of Dublin.

though im VERY familar with drinking asahi, ive never had that one. id love to try it though.

asahi super dry is an incredible beer. funny enough, ive always found it a lot like fosters. or the other way around. there's some similarities there. and of course, im talking about fosters in a bottle. the canned is not nearly as tasty.

man.. im thirsty! beer run later for sure.

The Beast is about $6.99 for a 12 pack here in the states. That's some of the nastiest piss to drink though. We used to get these cases of Red Bull 40 oz's (12 to a case) for $12.00 US and it would get a half dozen of us wrecked. This was back around '99 or so. The good old days. :(

The Beast? Never heard of it, but it sounds like it would give ol' 211 a run for its money. I can't understand why people actually drink that shit. :pukey:

Milwaukee's Best Ice. AKA "The Beast." When you drink like I (used to) you are forced to lower your standards to such tripe.

And don't even start me on that 211 shit. I drank that shit one time and I was literally hallucinating. I will never touch that shit again. Ever.

I had a roommate who would sometimes buy Milwaukee's Best. Yeah, he was a worthless alcoholic piece of shit, but I think the real reason why he would buy that shit was so we didn't take his beer.

I've only had a 6-ounce styrofoam cup of that shit once on a dare from my friends. I still can't believe I drank that shit. :pukey:

Universal health care isn't paying for itself.

I have no problem paying the prices here. It's the hours that areabitch. I was in Chicago, got hammered at Wrigley...partied after and picked up more beer on the way home around 2am. That's a good life. I'm assuming booze is available during holidays in the states too? All beer and liquor stores in Ontario are government run. Closed at 10 and 5 on Sundays.

Supposedly some people are pushing to have booze sold in private establishments. One can.dream.

In Vancouver I think they stop selling booze at midnight, but one of the bartenders at a brewery said that they have "after hours"places where they use a loophole in the law that lets restaurants sell alcohol to patrons who were there before midnight.

I don't know what the laws are in other states, but in California you can't buy alcohol between 2 and 6 in the morning.

Between 2-6 is reasonable. There has to be a line somewhere. 5pm is not that line.

There is certain Chinese restaurants here that will secretly serve you beer after hours in a teapot if you ask for the Specialty. Special-Tea. Get it? God bless the Chinese.

Canadian prices are absurd son. With your guys' sin tax it's a wonder anyone drinks or smokes up there. And how anyone can afford to drive a half ton pickup there is also a wonder.

"Off sale" here in MN is from 8am to 10pm, and you have to drive to the outskirts (outside of the big city limits) here to get it past 8pm on Monday-Thursday. There is no legal "off sale" of liquor here on Sundays, so half the metro makes a run to WI that day, as I have many a time to Hudson. There are lawmakers though trying to change that law though.

If you go to a gas station anywhere in the state they sell 3.2 liquor, which is just watered down piss and not worth your time. I used to drink it from time to time. It's probably the same piss they will sell you at a pro sports game in order that you have to drink a bathtub worth to catch a buzz.

Grocery stores only have the 3.2 piss, unlike in Illinois when I last went there there were bottles of hard liquor out in the open in the aisle.

Basically it's kind of complicated and varies from state to state.

I'm watching some specialist videos
After much investigatationing, I have concluded that the price of beer here is drunkenness and a hangover in the morning.
On a more fiscal note - about £3.80 a pint (Imperial Pint=20oz, not the namby pamby 16oz of a US Pint).

Between € 2,20 & € 2,80 depending on the bar.
That's for a 0,3l glass.

Pint (i'm counting half a litre) usually goes for € 4,-

I'm so horny, even the crack of dawn isn't safe
The "Beast" takes me back...to when I had no taste and no money. Thats 6.99 12/pk 12 oz cans
in my metro area. The Killer local microbrew is 6.99-$7.99 US. per sixer. $4.95 to 6.95 Pt. at my pub(s).

Heartland USA Prices though. Would be higher on the coast(s).

My advice is: Go to Prague

But do not order Budweiser. There are lots of excellent breweries there, but Bud costs as much as in your country.

Pick a no-name brand, their are as good as the famous brands... and they cost half as much ;)
