Beer?

So for our anniversary last year I got my BF a bottle of the Westvleteren 12.. Which if you know much about beer this is supposedly the number one beer in the world. It's a rare Belgium ale brewed by Trappist monks at a monastery in Belgium and it's extremely hard (and expensive) to get your hands on a bottle.. I managed to find one after searching over 30 cities on craigslist and it cost me almost 200 dollars for one bottle! I also had picked up a Stone 12-12-12 Vertical Epic Ale for him to go along with it (plus a bunch of different beer glasses)

Anyway with March 14th approaching (you should all know what that day is, if you don't you need better girlfriends :p ) I wanted to find some more rare or interesting beers to add to his collection. Do you guys have any recommendations or any that I should stay away from?

Also, It's been a while since I've posted any pics on here but here's my "ballerina" halloween costume.. Which is pretty much just, I didn't have a costume so I threw this together last minute.. Hope everyone is having an awesome 2014 so far! This will most definitely be an amazing year for me ;)

This was eons ago, but when I was in Bavaria there was a dark beer called "Konig Ludwig Dunkel" or King Ludwig Dark. Unless things changed or I'm just remembering it wrong, it was a small brewery. But the beer was superb. Absolutely wonderful. I have no clue how you would go about scoring some.

I don't know how available Deshutes Brewing of Oregon is in your part of the country. Black Butte Porter is a terrific dark and Mirror Pond Pale Ale is a terrific light.

Always glad to see you. How is the job going? Alas, I quit working for the poker circuit right before they landed the contract at your place. I will have to continue to worship you from afar.

Well, how he likes his steak cooked is a factor in which beer will best complement it, I'd say.

Just for comparison purposes, for $200 you can buy 46 six-packs of Mickey's Malt Liquor (big-mouth bottles fondly known as "stingers") at the local grocery store close to where I live here in Texas.

I love you.

That is all for now.

Aww you're the sweetest!

A bottle of Iron Maidens finest?

I do believe I've seen this at a party store here..

I'll have to check out that beer, the job is ok but to be honest with the casino being so new it's got a lot of kinks to work out.. don't know how much longer I'll be there.

Yeah.. he's kind of a beer snob.. Its like how some people collect really expensive bottles of wine.

Westvleteren12 is my favourite Belgian beer.
I'm surprised that you are familiar with this one.

Your boyfriend must be a lucky guy.

Cheers.

Thanks love! I just like to be in tune to what he likes, makes gift giving a lot easier lol

If you can find it 'Tactical Nuclear Penguin'!

Oh my, I just googled this beer.. This is now my new mission! Thanks Red!

Rochefort 10 is nice.

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout or Barleywine

Tripel Karmeleit - Belgian ale

St Bernardus Abbey 12

Founders Breakfast Stout

Sam Adams Utopias

sorry I run a liquor store so I get a chance to see alot of cool stuff

The Trooper beer suggested above is a nice novelty but the beer is kinda blah.

If you like Westvleteren12, try St Bernardus Abt 12. So similar and you don't have to go to Belgium to get it or wait for another roof at the abby to be built.

1.Umm what's March 14th? I know of a Feb 14th but not a march. I am single so maybe that's my excuse for not knowing?
2. Damn you have a gorgeous face and curves, plus going out and getting him all these beers, ya BF is a lucky guy.

I once had a really nice Belgian beer called Leffe Brune which is a type of amber or red ale. My fav Aussie beer is James Squire The Chancer golden ale. Any of the James Squire beers are good. Avoid Fosters, Victoria Bitter and Carlton Draught at all costs!

March 14th = Their anniversary or a bj. I'm assuming the latter but could be both.
