Babies with pierced ears

I've recently seen quite a few very young little babies with their ears pierced.
People who pierce their babies ears.
Babys with damn earings, infants, newborns.
What kind of vain, shallow shit is that?
That must really fuckin hurt a little baby, babies are very sensitive to pain. Probably feels very uncomfortable and un natural for the kid also

Maybe it might even affect them psychologically.
I just don't see how a parent could put their baby through this intense pain, even if its only for a minute, for their own personal vanity, to me thats fucked up.

Whats your opinion, we'd like to know?

I kind of agree with you. I think it's sick and stupid. But I don't think that it is psychologically damaging to people. We are living in this fucked up dark age where people jump to rash conclusions, like diagnosis based on bullshit that is not medically sound and away from real researched and comprehension of science and medicine.

I guess that's another story, but like there's been no advancement in the understanding of how psychology works in the last few years and yet, more and more is being done to people in the name of it. I read shit from the 70's, not fiction writers, but real scientists talking about the stuff they are doing and their predictions for the future, and they have completely fallen flat in the past two decades and gone nowhere. it really bums me out.

Are we talking about a western culture thing here, or within other foreign cultures ?

As long as this practice isn't some kind of neo western culture fad thingy, I got nothing.

I've always thought this issue was kind of funny and just goes to show how hypocritical a lot of parents really are.

Baby getting pierced ears against their will = "Every girl has them" so there's nothing wrong with it, so it's OK.

Baby getting a tattoo against their will = You sick fucker, why would you mutilate a baby's body like that?

Its no different than circumcision. In fact, circumcision is worse.

I'm not into piercing babies ears either. Simply because its not smart. Their damn little ears aren't done growing yet, and the piercing could end up looking weird later on. My neice had hers pierced when she was an infant and now one of the piercings is lopsided and not even because her ears grew and the piercing ended up on a diff spot on the lobe.

so what about a baby with a Prince Albert?

thats just unsafe. Little boys always tug on their weenies...they'd rip the damn thing out! Plus can you just imagine a four year old Timmy on the playground wanting to show Suzie whats in his underpants?

"I'll show You Mine if you show me yours....awww why not.....but mines shiny!!"

I don't know. I think it's hot.

Conspiracy...
I don't like it either. It's like parents who push their children into too many activities. Mini-van driving, suburb living, nuts. :hatsoff:

Let children be children.

Exactly.

Plus the whole pain thing.

I'm glad I haven't seen it for a while.

I think that the parents should wait on the other side of the road from the hospital and they should make the babies crawl across the freeway to get to them. hey, it works for sea turtles.

I think the next time I see a baby with earings I'll fuck with the parents.
Tell them about my daughter who's got 6 piercings on one ear, 4 on the other, a nose ring, lip ring, eyebrow ring and tongue ring.
And she has an appointment for a tattoo that says DaD later in the week.

In the Latin culture, it is normal to pierce a baby girl's ears when she is at least 6 months old. Go to any Spanish neighborhood and you will see a lot of baby girls and toddlers with their ears pierced. I'm out and about everyday, and I see a lot of female babies of all races with their ears pierced. What's the big deal?

My wife and I choose to pierce our daughter's ears at 3 months. Now, at almost 3, she does not play with them or pull on her ears. It was done in a safe and clean environment, by a professional with experience. We change and clean her earrings regularly.

Are there any other parents here who have done the same?

It's not only little boys that do it! Just ask the male members of the board!Personally, it hasn't happened thus far in 28 years.

Kids aren't their parents' property. They have an obligation to nurture and protect the child.Nothing should be done to their bodies unless it's a medical necessity because it just isn't the parents' right.
If people are stupid enough to mutilate themselves that's a different matter. If they think that tattoos and piercings achieve anything other than prove they are idiots that's another.
