...and she passed a law that made everybody in America think about.
No one would know her name had she not passed a law that takes the the federal immigration law and put into the hands of the AZ popo.
She has balls - maybe that's why she seems loopy.

GOPers support these idiots not because they say anything particularly enlightening or awe-inspiring...but simply because they're on their team...no matter how idiotic they are.

The fastest way to become a millionaire in America is make a product which sales to 14 year old girls or GOPers. Proven fact.

Oh yes, and you DFLers are SO much more selective. You people are willing to listen to anyone intelligent, whether they share your political ideologies or not. Give me a break.

Every single word you say about GOPers could just as aptly describe the hero worshipping hippie freeloaders on the other side of the aisle. See how that works? We can call you names too. Isn't that mature?

You all go around with the elitist attitude that you are so much more enlightened than the rest of us. Every time the republicans come up with a candidate who could possibly threaten you, the instant response is "that candidate is "stupid". Wow, that's really original. You would think a group as enlightened as the DFLers would be able to come up with insults that are a little more original than something a second grader would use.

The funny thing is that you keep calling our candidates stupid, and they keep winning elections. Why is it that if our people are so stupid, you people can't find anyone who can beat them in an election? Even I will admit that George W. Bush wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but you lost to the guy TWICE!

By the way, you want to say the fastest way to make a profit is to make a product that sells to GOPers. To that I say that Al Gore sure didn't do too badly galavanting all over the world on his wide body jet selling out auditoriums to tell the tree huggers about how big bad republican business owners are melting the polar ice caps and that the world is coming to an end.

Don't you realize that your side is guilty of every single thing you say about my side???? While the DFLers are all sitting around with their Birkenstock wearing buddies, singing folk songs, and patting themselves on the back for being so enlightened, their own politicians are pulling the same crap as the GOPers.

I'm not defending this Governor Brewer character. I don't know her. All I'm saying is that for every one like her you want to point to on the GOP side, there is another one on your side of the aisle.

Let's quit all the petty little name calling and actually talk about the issues.

You all go around with the elitist attitude that you are so much more enlightened than the rest of us.

That's because we are :D

Every time the republicans come up with a candidate who could possibly threaten you, the instant response is "that candidate is "stupid".

Well if it's Palin or Bachmann, can you blame us?

The funny thing is that you keep calling our candidates stupid, and they keep winning elections.

That's because they appeal to the lowest common denominator. Hordes of intellectual underachievers see that Sarah's incapable of expressing a coherent thought without consulting what's written on her palm and think, "Cool, she's just like me!" :banger:

Short response: Brewer is another fucking GOPer idiot...or worse.

You all go around with the elitist attitude that you are so much more enlightened than the rest of us. Except for one thing, the ones who have been pointed out as "stupid" ARE fucking stooopid!! And the only threat Brewer represents is to me is a raid on my wet bar and liquor cabinet.

Proves the point made by Gore Vidal in another post...the American electorate (those who occasionally vote) can be even stupider.:2 cents:

So that's Gore...andddd:o (Of course no need to run down the GOPer book club rotation).

Maybe so, but Brewer...you must admit.. And for the last time...although I bash GOPers non stop (they just deserve it more) and I voted for Obama and would a thousand times over the GOPer lineup...I am an Independent. Got it??

Please explain to me this "your side" and "our side" stuff.:dunno::confused: This is what really fucking pisses me off about this nation today. It's all about polarization. Aren't we all Americans first? Sure doesn't feel that way to me. Thanks Limbaugh, Olbermann, Hannity, Maddow, O'Reilly, Matthews, Beck, Schultz, Savage....on and on. At least your ratings are good and you're raking in the cash. In the meantime, we remain a house divided. And you know what they say about that....:(

When was the last time in history that this country was somewhat unified? Probably WWII and even then there were plenty of FDR haters out there. It's much worse now however due to the media. MUCH worse.

An idiot is an idiot...whether on the right side or the left. I personally think Harry Reid is a hypocritical asshole. I also think that Wasilla Sarah is a moron. Nancy Pelosi turns my stomach. So does John Cornyn. Obama's presidency has been a disappointment in my view. Yet the alternatives that the republicans seem to be considering are nothing short of pathetic. There's plenty of incompetence and stupidity to go around for both sides. It's all around us! Yet, we hang onto our partisan biases no matter what.

When we are willing, eager in fact, to wish for the failure of our nation based upon partisan principles....well, that's just wrong. And the politicians just love it because as long as we keep fighting amongst ourselves we might not notice that we are all being taken for a collective ride by those who hold power over us. It's a very old concept known as "divide and conquer". Works pretty fucking well as it turns out.

I don't mean to single you out Crazy4 but you are so totally symptomatic of the problem that I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to use you as an example. No personal affront intended. It's OK....it really isn't your fault. You have been deviously and deliberately manipulated and conditioned very effectively by those who so desperately want to keep us arguing amongst ourselves so that we just don't see the real issue that is going on. And those on the left are just as guilty of it as those on the right. And here I am....stuck somewhere hopelessly in the middle. Which one of you extreme factions speak for people like me? Don't bother to answer....there's no one. :crying:

I love this country but I'm so fucking sick of this kind of shit that it literally makes me want to vomit. Excuse me....

Emigrate to the UK. We get along pretty well and the left/right divide isn't so volatile. Plus our politicians at least have a certain degree of intelligence as the stupid ones never get voted in, the far right lost all their seats in the last election just when it was thiught they'd gain more. :dunno:

People tend to forget....everyone (except for the most extreme of extremists) unified behind GWB after 9/11.

Of course he was extended the benefit of nearly every doubt by his political opponents in his ensuing actions.

Would that have happened if the political roles were reversed??

That's why I bash GOPers more....they are just worse and sheer GOPerism (not practical conservatism) is frankly a cancer in this country. It is the unique brand of ideology that values above all else (ALL ELSE) partisianism as it's only principle.

All politicians play politics...even partisanship (which is necessary at times) but all one has to do is ask...which way GOPers would have handled a 9/11 had the president been a Demo...Not just some idiot here or there..it would have been their party leadership followed up by their propaganda network...

The first two responses you gave proved the point of my entire post.

As for appealing to the lowest common denominator, you have got to be kidding me!?!? Sure, there are plenty of ignorant rednecks who vote republican, I'll be the first to admit that.

At the same time, how can you possibly accuse the right of appealing to the "lowest common denominator" when your side is the one who spends so much of it's time promising give aways from the government?

At least our rednecks are willing to get off their back sides and go to work. The lowest common denominator of the left are those who sit around waiting for the government to provide a living for them because they feel it is owed to them due to some injustice that was done to their great, great, great grandparents. When the free lifestyle they receive is not equal to those on the other side who actually put forth some effort and work for it, they claim that "the man" is trying to hold them back.

I ask you Bodie54, which common denominator is lower?

Also, it takes a lot of guts for any Obama supporter to take shots at Sarah Palin for looking at notes when she is speaking publicly. Is it not the President who has the well deserved reputation for leaning on the aid of a teleprompter?

The fact is, any public speaker is going to use notes of some kind. There is nothing wrong with doing so whether it is Sarah Palin or Barack Hussein Obama.

Don't you get it?? The problem with relying on coaching, prepping and hand scribbled notes but STILL sounding like an idiot.:dunno:

You seem to think you're quite an expert on what Republicans/Conservatives/GOPers/Teabaggers/etc/etc./etc. are thinking and doing.

Here's an idea. Why don't you quit talking about what George W. Bush did, and tell me what the guy you voted for would have done. If Al Gore had been elected in 2000, what do you think he would have done in response to 9/11?

Better yet, what would YOU have done in response to 9/11 if you were the President?

Please. Enlighten us.

:confused::confused: The question isn't what would someone else have done...the point is no one questioned Bush, his leadership, ability to keep the US safe as more than likely would have been and has been done by GOPers to Demos.

Send 5,000 polar bears to Afghanistan to rip the Taliban to shreds.

I will raise you one Will E. Worm....1 week of listening to some of his tripe....OBL would either turn himself in willingly to escape it or kill himself.:o

Jagger69, you and I actually agree on a lot more than you think we do. The only reason I speak of "sides" is because the lefties on this site are so cliche in their postings. They lean on tired old sound bites that they hear from their friends and other left thinkers.

I am outspoken in defending the republicans, but it certainly is not because I'm all that big of a fan of many of them myself. The reason is because my overall political sense tends to lean more to the right. I want less government interference in our lives. I'm fiscally conservative, and have mixed opinions on social issues.

For example, I agree with you on capital punishment. I am also in favor of at least looking into the possibility of legalizing marijuana. I have never used the stuff myself, and I don't intend to. However, every single one of the pot smokers I've talked to have said that they believe it is harmless. I don't know myself, but I do believe it's something the government should look into, since it could bring in revenue, reduce crime, and create space in our jails.

When I talk about "this side" and "that side", it's not because I am such a huge supporter of the particular politicians of either party. I just get sick of all the tired old cliches.

:confused::confused: The question isn't what would someone else have done...the point is no one questioned Bush, his leadership, ability to keep the US safe as more than likely would have been and has been done by GOPers to Demos.

No. Get off of Bush for two seconds. Prove to me that you can actually think for yourself. What do YOU think should have been done? How could the GOPers/Demos have kept us safe?

And don't cop out and tell me "well they wouldn't have done what Bush did". What should they have done?

Duh!!! Didn't I say the whole world was behind GWB after 9/11 implying his actions to go into Afghanistan was the reasonable response?? There is nothing to revise on that.

Obviously the execution of the policy was a bankrupt blunder and most reasonable people know now what I knew back then...chasing Saddam around Tikrit was blunder number two.

Even Demos followed GWB into that disaster.
