Awesome Metal Bands

Someone said earlier up there that people just don`t know what metal is.Well that`s true at least for me.When I go to record store,all bands that I know as "heavy metal" bands seem to be under "hard rock" or other weird categories.And under "metal" there`s some Dimmu Borgir and other stuff that I don`t know anything about...
I wonder if Venom is under hard rock these days...they were the one who "invented" death- and black metal in the first place...
