Whenever I see a roof gun like that, I wonder if anyone mistakenly shot off their vertical stabilizer because of tunnel vision.

Is there some kind of mechanism that shuts off the action when the muzzle is inline with the stabilizer? The old WW1 planes had interrupter gears in the propeller machine guns so that bullets could never hit a prop blade. So maybe there was some interrupter mechanism when the turret was turned at a certain point or maybe there was something blocking the turret from turning to a certain degree range?

Couldn't resist, even though Hamilton sold it last year (reportedly to Niki Lauda's company Laudamotion Executive - so Lewis probably still flew in it ;)):

Watched Midway. Better than Pearl Harbor (not a high standard), although many shots look like they were taken right from the film.

I guess it's a testament to tech back then that it doesn't seem like there's that much of a difference in the CG, or maybe that's just me. They did spend a lot more time on the Japanese perspective than expected which was nice, although they really had a hate on Nagumo in portraying him like a stubborn old fool. And of course being backed by a Chinese company they had to shoehorn in the "Chinese victim" tangent.
But overall better than expected. Some are saying it was teasing a sequel for "The Battle of the Philippine Sea". Not sure if that would be as exciting as it wasn't nearly as close as a battle IRL.
