Are you familiar with the F-82? It came too late for WW2 but was used as a night fighter in Korea. A friends Father flew them and until his death a year ago was an expert on them.

I'm not sure. It's inevitable of course. I think the F-35s are going first to the squadrons that are forward deployed to Japan, Guam, Wake Island, the western pacific, etc.
