Avatar : Did you saw it ? What do you think about it ?

James Cameron's movie a huge hit. The one movie everybody talks about.
But, bottomline, did you saw it and what do yu think of it ?

Everyone around me says it's great but, tom me, it's real disapointing : Yes graphically, it's beautifull but the plot is too simple, too binary : the bad humans that only care about money and are ready to everything if money isd involved VS the good ET caring about nature, living in harmony with her and protecting her.
Also I find the scenario is too obvious, you can easily guess what will happen next and there's no surprises at all.

Very good movie, I saw it in IMAX 3D. Although the story is predictable, the visuals and special effects were amazing and that makes up for the usual Hollywood cliché storyline.

What type of ending were people expecting? To kill the inhabiants and blow up the planet Pandora? :thefinger

Not really my thing. When it comes on cable, I might watch a few minutes of it and see if it's worth devoting a couple of hours to. :dunno:

Most of these movies seem to devote about 90% of their time to special effects and only about 10% to developing a good story. I'm not anti Avatar (since I haven't seen it and have no idea what it's about). I just think the whole genre has become boring. Stargate was the last good scifi movie that I saw.

Solid Hollywood entertainment with all the usual plot lines. Loved the visuals in IMAX 3D and it was worth a watch!

It was fucking beautiful graphically and the 3D was phenomenal! Beyond that it fell short. But I'll still probably pick it up on blu ray when its released!
