I've got a crap-ton of Motor Trend e-mails to go through.. Just started to do so, and saw THIS beauty:

In other news: for peeps considering buying an EV - looks like DiscountTireDirect and TireRack will be some of your favorite websites in the near future!

A snippet: "Tire mileage can vary widely of course, but he said he frequently changes EV tires at just 8,000 to 10,000 miles — a fourth or even fifth of typical tire wear on a gas-burning car."

Electric vehicles are at the end more costly to maintain than any old big block engine powered gasoline car and not so environmentally friendly, their batteries can't be recycled. They can also be hacked since there are no more key for the ignition.

I read in the Detroit news recently that Hertz rental car company is selling many of its EV rental cars, replacing them with gas - powered cars for the same reason. Accident repair costs are much higher with EV vehicle vs. gas powered vehicles is another reason cited by Hertz.

Thta is true but I can't see myself driving an electrical vehicle especially when there is ignition key.and even worse when you can't fix the engine by your own.

You can't really fix modern combustion engines anymore either, without the computer interface and software. You can do brakes and other simple things, but you aren't going to be digging to deep. Hell, even my Harley needed a computer and software to repair and dial things in. The days of being able to do all of your own wrenching are long gone.

A study by the german Fraunhofer Institute projets a growing advantage for EVs heading into the future. Of course, this gets even better, if the car owners have photovoltaic system of their own and can power the batteries by that means

And the building of EVs will get lower and lower, as factories have more and more experience with doing so, like they did with the old petrol-powered vehicles

Whoa! Bad time to own stock in an auto manufacturer - particularly Nissan or apparently Stelantis. Looks like Nissan is helping out Dealers with anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000 to sell Muranos.

Maybe you can make a fortune bying large when the stocks hit rock bottom, reaping a good chunk pennies for dollars. There can always be a crazy turnaround.

Looks like I'm going to have to hock a few things, and cash in a bond or two.

Oooooo ..; I'd LOVE to be able to afford that 288GTO. I saw one at a car show near me, a few years ago. I don't think ANYONE realized what it was! My first "if I were to win a big lottery, I'd buy THIS!!" car.

It was the first of the supper cars from Ferrari, so I get it. I like the F50 myself, but they're so collectable, you really can't drive them t0o much. There was a story a year a go, or so. The 288 that belonged to Nicky Lauda was going up for auction, and it was unusual because it had a serial number apart from the main run of production. Enzo himself commissioned it as a way to mend fences between the 2, after he parted with Ferrari racing. The car had all of the provenance, including a receipt, signed by Enzo Ferrari, selling the car for cost. The problem was, Lauda loved the car so much, it was his regular everyday driver, and it had a lot of miles on it. I guess if you drive an F1 for a living, you feel comfortable driving a car like that everyday, in traffic.

Here's another one. The holy trinity of supercars. A Ferrari, a Porsche, and a McClaren. I'm not a fan of Porsche, but I wouldn't mind the other 2.

Pretty sure this is fake, but for shits and giggles, it's fun to think about all the problems you'd have if this was real.

Although I'm sure cops would LOVE this.

A good solution... except that the average person probably doesn't have the money to install something like this.
And who keeps their Ferrari parked outside anyways?!?

Effing Joe Biden.. Looks like he just moved up the CA Air Standards / all new cars must be electric deadline by three years!

Prior: As part of the Advanced Clean Cars II regulations, all new passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in California will be zero-emission vehicles by 2035. In October 2023, staff launched a new effort to consider amendments to the Advanced Clean Cars II regulations.

Summary / Now: The final rule, which begins in earnest in 2027, demands that automakers quickly amp up production of electric vehicles. By 2032, the emissions standards dictate that roughly Premium Link Upgrade be battery-powered electric or hybrids.

And I guarantee you the filthy piece of garbage won't care that the working man can't afford it, but will still give free healthcare to the criminals flooding across the border. He'll used the tax dollar of the working man to provide assistance to people that have never made a single effort to put something into the pot, and those of us that have worked hard, will have to work harder, and suffer penalties because we can't afford an electric car.

Europe likely to NOT meet its "net-zero" goals, via the use of EVs:

"And it’s plain to me that the reasons in Europe are the same as they are here: electric cars are too expensive to buy, and too fussy to recharge."

Poor folks use electric cattle fence chargers wired to the frame of the vehicle. Zap!
