CANBERRA (Reuters) - A cattle farmer in Australia's remote northern outback on Friday said he had found a giant ball of twisted metal, which he believes is space junk from a rocket used to launch communications satellites.

Farmer James Stirton found the odd-shaped ball last year on his 40,000 hectare property, about 800 kilometers (500 miles) west of the northern Queensland state capital of Brisbane.

But Stirton only started inquiring into what the ball of metal really was, and where it had come from, in the past week.

Start wrapping your shit in tin foil, Kangeroo boy. There be aliens in them there bushes.

I think he should put it up for sell on eBay if someone can get $1,350 for a corn flake shape like Illinois.

I'm sure he can get something out of it. ;)

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
My question is this. If... it fell from space, why isn't it in a crater or why isn't there no distrubance of the dirt?

Even if it had fallen out of an aircraft it would of left a smell dent... Maybe he moved it?

I have to agree with you both looks like there would be some kind of dent or something or it could have it something solid and bounce maybe or someone might have moved it form were it did hit.:dunno:

sure looks like it would be a heavy pile of junk, maybe the dirt has blown in all around it and it is partially buried? looks like some great farmland there !

Agreed, I don't think I could coax much more than a weed from such ground.

Or maybe he is lying, trying to get some money selling some bullshit story? Could be...

Then again, perhaps all Mr. Stirton grows on his farm are apocryphal stories!

Welcome to Australia, second driest continent on Earth after Antarctica. Out there cattle farms are hundreds, if not thousands of miles across so that the cattle can find enough food. They are often mustered by helicopter.

On topic, I'd like to see some better pics of the object in question.
