Lastly: it's very unfortunate the way she responded to the ridicule. I really wish she could have risen above the naysayers, and taken more heart in the validity of her conscience and solace in the knowledge of her rights. She made a bad choice, motivated by a narrow view of her reality, her self worth and her options. Some people here are calling her a depressive who broke under the scrutiny, and perhaps this is so, but more than anything she seemed a bit fragile, and ultimately someone looking to be validated and appreciated. She deserved better than what she got from her haters and much better than what she gave herself. The fact that she never got to truly realize her inner beauty is perhaps the saddest part of this tragic story.

She was indeed a troubled soul:

Terrible news. So sad that someone is pushed to that extreme. In the articles I read, it sounds like she had a terrible upbringing and was deeply troubled. Battled with bipolar and depression and said she could never find a therapist that helped her. No one should have to live with such demons without help. She was just a kid really and no matter how hot she was this is such a sad story.
