Astrology

Is anyone into astrology?

I have used it to profile peoples personalities using only their birthday and it is very accurate for me.

Er, would love to believe..but it's never done anything (good) for me :o

Why would I possibly believe that the sun, the moon or any other celestial body is having an effect on my life? Other than of course to give us light, heat and the gravitational effect that controls the tides. But to effect my day to day existence because I was born in a certain month is pretty ridiculous.

All it gives you are vague claims that can be attributed to anyone. Pseudoscience at its finest.

Actually, I do recall...September/Oct. Wall Street free-fall....Full Moon ;)

Whenever I hear about astrology I think of Nancy Reagan (wife of former president of US).She supposedly consulted an astrologist every day with regards to Ron and what he should be up to that day.Scary to think a president might be relying on such hocus pocus.

Y'know, I don't usually read my horoscope, but this morning mine said 'Someone will make a wild and outrageous claim today, try to control your feelings, or you may get into an unecessary argument'

So... I'll say no more then.

OK a lot of skeptics here

try putting your birthday into here and see if the report is accurate:

Do not try to work around the word filter. If the link you posted comes up as ***** then the link is not allowed on the Freeones Message Board.

Just remember that astrology is based on stars and planets that have no relationship with each other. In the case of the stars they are literally trillions of miles apart. If you were on a planet halfway across our galaxy and on another plane of the ecliptic the constellations that we see here on earth would not exist.

It's ludicrous to think they have any meaning.

I've actually heard before that many former U.S. presidents have consulted with astrologers.....take that any way you wish.

It's interesting that astrologers are quite adamant that they have the precise time and date of birth but are unclear what constitutes birth (crowning, exiting the womb, time recorded by midwife, first breath), which could vary considerably.

They say that location has to be exact and on the other have no idea as to the layout of the hospital.

Can "accurately" provide predictions when you agree with them but start backpedalling like crazy when you don't.

Utter, utter, bollocks

Just in case someone needed a dose of reality.:yinyang:

Great post.

If anybody knows someone who is "searching" for meaning - or might be looking for answers from psychics at a vulnerable time (death of a loved one perhaps) point to them to this guy. He has some great clips on you tube. I introduced my kids to him when they first started to get scared by ghost movies etc. Penn and Teller do some great stuff but there is always the problem of language with the kids.

Anyway astrology is a gateway for a whole host of scam merchants who rip off the vulnerable. Anything that makes it go away is great by me.
