Why is "W" pronounced "double u" as opposed to the way it looks "double v"? Granted, in French "V" is "vay" & "W" is "dooble-vay," but why isn't that the case in English?

Not that I would want to stop Miss H answering questions in her own thread, BUT...
I think it may have to do with the fact the the letter V in the Roman alphabet was used in place of a U, which did not actually exist as such. This is just a guess, but seems reasonable to me.:dunno:

Duck caliber can be anything 12, 20, 28

Shot size is more critical..5 or 6

Trap or skeet is purely a type of gun .

Having said that trap would be suitable unless shooting duck in a pen or box and then you may as well go with skeet.

Choice of gun Belgian made Browning, Black duck special 12 Gauge and Browning classic 20 Gauge.

I shoot targets now and feed ducks
