Very good recipe if you like capers and artichokes - two of her favorites.

It sounds really good but the link is broken:dunno:

Artichoke hearts are easy - while I never say this about ingredients, get the kind in the bottle. They're nice and soft, and can be dropped into a recipe at any time without the need for long cooking times.

I prefer artichoke hearts without a tomato based sauce. Try them with an Alfredo (add nutmeg and garlic) or a Pesto. Here's the easiest way to enjoy them:
Get your favourite pasta cooking. Heat olive oil in a frypan. Cook a small onion (finely diced) with garlic. Once they are soft, add some white wine. Then, drop in artichoke hearts, green peppers, your favourite olives, and a few grape tomatoes. when stuff is getting hot, drop in four or five heaping tablespoons of your favourite pesto. When everything is hot and done, drain your pasta, put it in the frypan with everything else, toss, and serve with a salad.

Then, have a lot of hot sex.

Trust me. It's a great dish.

Wow...I'm stumped on this one.. I don't really eat them or haven't at all..

Would be interesting to see some of the recipes people come up with here.

Are they raw artichokes or are they canned artichoke hearts? Let me know and I'll send some recipes your way.

Artichoke hearts don't make it into my cooking very often...mostly because I tend to eat them out of the can before I can get them in the dish. :D Here's one of my favorite pasta's using artichoke hearts:

Greek Chicken Pasta

I always had artichoke heart pasta. It was your basic pasta with artichoke heart, spinach, and what seemed to be alfredo pasta.

Cara Mia is a popular brand of hearts that you may find at your grocer ( in 12 oz. jars )

If you opt to buy Artichokes in the produce section, cut the stems off flush with the bottom of the lowest leaves, wash thoroughly in warm water... and here's what I do for the microwave oven:

1) put 2 - 3 of 'em in a 1 gallon size freezer type of plastic bag
2) pour about 3 - 4 ounces of water in the bag leaving and end open so that the steam can exit during cooking - *Do make certain that the water doesn't leak out ! Place the open end up ^ !
3) My oven cooks three medium artichokes on HIGH in about 8 to 9 minutes, yours may be quicker or slower
4) they are done cooking when you can easily sink a fork into the bottom
* you don't want to cook them too much though ! They should have the consistency (firmness) of a dill pickle for example.
5) Pick off the leaves and dip the broad area (bottom) of the leaves in melted better & fresh garlic as an Hor Dourve, then, when all of the leaves are out, use a spoon to remove that fuzzy flower stuff (you'll see what I'm talkin about when you get there :hatsoff:
After that's done, you're left with an artichoke heart

Dice up and put in your salad ! :yummie:

I used to make an artichoke bisque that'd knock your socks off. I'll see if I can dig up that recipe.

My favorite thing to do with artichokes is to bury them in the compost pile. I fucking DESPISE artichokes. :pukey:
