Arrested For Asking For Quiet In A Cinema

People and their cellphones these days. I just hate it when people continue to talk like a normal conversion not caring that other people are trying to watch a damn movie. I mean, there are commercials before the movie that remind us to turn off our cellphones for the respect of other people. I may forget to turn off my cell phone at times, and there was this one time when it did ring, but I quickly told my friend that I would call back. Simple as that.

Good point. Sounds like a made up story to me.

If a Texan and an Australian got into a fight during a movie about gay cowboys, you figure that would be a national headline.

Good story, but false IMO.

It was true enough to make the Evening National News here.

courtesy is often forgotten by people and when rebuked, they feel like they have been offended in some way.

Here's the thing, and not to be a devil's advocate just for the Hell of it, but assault is defined in the USA as "unwanted touching," and that's what happened here, per the story. However, the judge will likely slap this woman (the defendant) on the wrist and all the hoopla will be for nothing.

I've recently had to reenter the world of mobile phones, and I loathe them. There's nothing worse than seeing/hearing people walking through public places on their mobile phones, ignoring the people around them, ignoring cashiers helping them check out at the store, driving their cars in blissful ignorance, swerving and not paying attention to traffic signals, etc. It's sooooooo annoying!!!

It's a convenience to have a mobile phone, and can improve productivity and also enhance our personal lives in ways since it's a helpful communications tool, but when mobile phone technology encroaches upon common courtesy and etiquette (and safety on the roads), we've got to temper it a bit.
