I have an Xbox 360 which I enjoy. But I love all games and I'll be picking up the PS3 as well. But it sounds like it's going to be a bit pricey so I might wait for a price drop like someone said earlier.

you can use a regular t.v. with a blu ray disc drive. The whole hype over blu-ray verse Hd-DVD is this. OK to the average joe, you and me, a dvd player is all we need. The blu-ray allows up to 50gig's of storage, Hd -Dvd allows 45 gigs, and the regular dvd allows something like 12 gigs i might be off on the regular dvd. Ok this really doesnt equate to much yet. In the fututre, 4-5 years, more games and movies will have more info on them, hence the need for one of these two formats.

Now as to the matter of getting a new t.v. you dont need to with either the blu-ray or the Hd-dvd. Only if you truely want to experience the "full cinimatic view" of a movie. Games will not utilise this feature. Atleast not in the next couple of years.

Ok to add to it all. Which one to go with. Well here is the straight up trueth of it all. For one both systems when they launch they usually only have one or two good games and it takes almost a full year till the games get there for the system. Two, when ever a new system comes out thier are tons of bugs with it. happened with the ps2 and the 360 gonna happen with the ps3.
With that said. Ok the 360 is and will be cheaper then the ps3 when the ps3 comes out. There will be more games for the 360 then the ps3 when the ps3 launchs. Sony doesnt not provide an online service that gives games shelf life. Xbox live does. There will be rpg's this time around for the 360 unlike the original xbox. The 360 can work with your computer to turn into a multimedia center. In other words you can turn it into a digital video recorder like a tivo. Yes the 360 works as a tivo storing t.v. shows on it's hard drive. Every single game will allow you to play what ever music sound track you want and not remove the sounds(i.e. explosions, gun fire).
Ok for a recap, 360 cheaper then the ps3.
More games for the 360 then ps3 in the holiday of 06.
More and better on-line support for the 360

if, as i suspect, Sony release it in time for christmas '06 it'll be priced about 400 quid easy. and there'll be a shortage coz everybody'll be snapping them up to sell on eBay for 600+ quid. so i'm patiently waiting until next year, probably april/may 2007, by which time the prices should be dropping, and some decent games should have been released too.
the 360 just doesnt convince me at all. the only game worth getting on there is probably quake 4, and even then i already have it for pc. id rather get the ps3. sure, itll cost at least $400, but its guaranteed that it will come with blu-ray, unlike microsofts empty promise of having the xbox 360 hd-dvd ready upon release.
ps3 will eventually have triple A titles like devil may cry 4, killzone 2, metal gear solid 4, resident evil 5, and sonic. if youve seen the previews to any of these games, they are absolutely stunning.
the 360 has dead or alive 4, quake 4, call of duty 2, and perfect dark. these games are worth buying the xbox for as well.

Buying PS3 as soon as it comes out, it has trounced xbox in the fact that it has good games coming out with it, has nice features and will rival the pc when it comes out (aka, next gen from now).
Also, the xbox was rushed out for the christmas buying period, therefore it was buggy and a piece of crap basically, that put a lot of people off.
I'll wait for PS3 and salivate until then over the screenshots and vids!
