Apple issues advice to avoid iPhone flaw

Another reason not to allow someone else to tell you how you want to use your device.

helpful advice for a flawed product...and yet despite such problems it continues to sell like fucking gangbusters

Unfortunately, people are often stupid, and will spend their money on whatever they deem cool, even if it's another person who is really telling them what is and isn't cool. Such is the current state of American consumerism.

I think it's bordering on a worldwide disease at this point. I have friends who were extremely happy with their iPhones and the AT&T coverage in this area and still they waited online to get the new one.

It's so Pavlovian that it's fucking scary. Odd behavior for a people in a nation and planet going through a harsh recession. Hell, it'd be odd, scary behavior in any economic climate.

This is one of the main reasons that I haven't upgraded to the new iPhone yet. My *******, who is a lefty like me, has had problems with reception on his phone. If you hold it a certain way, it won't happen.

How the fuck does something like this not show up during testing? Are they even testing their products? It's staggering that such a high profile product from such a high profile company can have such an obvious flaw in its design. It literally has a built-in flaw that prohibits the device from being used properly. It's like buying a car than can't turn left. Wow, high five for Apple...

There's a really good documentary about the mentality of "Macheads" called "The Cult of Mac". You want scary, that's some scary stuff there.

It's not just America. It's world wide...we have a few that work for FreeOnes though they shall remain nameless.

Why would they need to test products when they have people brainwashed to buy the latest and greatest igay product the moment it's announced?

Seriously, I'd give anything to spend a month with Apple's marketing department.

I'm too lazy to read the whole article and all the posts so maybe this isn't new for you or maybe this thread even is all about what I'm going to say now. (I'm tired :o )

I heard that cellotape helps to avoid problems with the signal! How weird is that?! You buy a phone for hundreds of dollars with new hight tech **** and then you put cellotape on the antenna?

honestly one of the best things to do for things like iphones, software, computers, mp3 player, yadda yadda is to wait for at least a few months because there are always software issues and/or hardware issues that aren't discovered until the masses get to test them

Do you want to be there to learn from them or do you want to spend time with them because you think they deserve to have pain inflicted upon themselves?

I'd like to learn their secrets to their viral marketing and then put them out of their misery for inflicting us with igay products.

I haven't had a chance to use or see the new iphone yet, but I've read some articles that say the reception problem is common with lots of cell phones but it is getting more press now because mac products get a lot of media attention.

I suppose I'll have to see for myself when it gets released in Canada. I love my iphone & I bought the first generation one. I've had no problems with it & could still use it for awhile quite happily. But I'd love the HD video camera & I'm hoping to use it as a travelling spycam:D

Yep, it's all emotional and trendy . . . I heard it around the water cooler purchasing, isn't it?

"Yea, Ashley, the new babe our company hired . . . Uh huh, her, the one that every woman wished they could be, the one with the new 3 series convertible (BMW), she has one of those phones so it has to be the best choice, besides, I wouldn't mind her seeing me with the exact same phone and exact same color scheme as hers! I'll pay $300 over suggested retail just to get my hands on one!
Nope, forget it! I don't care what the naysayers are spouting off, I . . .I gotta have one, this new phone is me, it's just what I need to express myself . . . '' :)rolleyes:)

Kinda like that Shayd? :1orglaugh

I'm one of those rare few who like both PC and iMac. I have both but I prefer my 20" i over the PC. fwiw

Where have we seen this before??? Uh, everywhere. Time and time again consumers will buy the best marketed, most attractive product...not the actual best product.

We see it with porn, cars, shoes...you name it...why should it be any different with something like the iphone.

The fact of the matter is Apple had/has a built in customer base for it the moment the ipod became the sensation it has become.

Let's face it, most people aren't techno geeks who care about every intricate detail of a products functionality IF performs the basic functions they buy it for.

Allot of people get frustrated with the iphone...but at the end of the day it's like some guys having a high maintenance, hot girlfriend on their arm. You'll deal with the bullshit to have the hot chick.
