Yes,

Revolver
Maxim
ESPN
GQ
Why? Because tbey are so cheap they are basically giving them away.

Why pay $5 an issue when you can get a year for $12?

There is no need for magazine subscriptions when paperboy dude keeps dropping all kind of advertisement papers to my mailbox even without any subscriptions. Also I don't really read anything unless there are more pictures than text... such as Donald Duck... and... that's pretty much it all. Maybe some random articles or sport results on net sometimes...

I cannot think of more than maybe one book without pictures which I might or might not have finished ever fully reading. They had some read a book and have a presentation thing in elementary school, but I never finished reading that either...

How are you finding the mags that aren't GQ? GQ has some interesting pieces but the one that arrived today had 22 solid pages of adverts before the contents page! After that I had to wait until page 51 for some actual content. To me this is absurd. I know they have to get ads to survive but it feels more like I'm reading a billboard trying to sell me aftershave and clothes rather than a magazine.

i got it. not sure you did.

Oh, I get it now. You not only got animus' "I'm a bit of a fairy" joke, but decided to throw it straight back at him too! Cutting edge. Glad I didn't just McBain that one.

Fuck me ragged. That's the saddest thing I've read today.

Well, apart from BBC Sport actually publishing some guys thoughts on Chelsea selling Schürrle and buying Cuadrado by comparing their stats on FIFA '15. Looks like true journalism is dying a slow death, just like the rest of the written word.

Stop the world, I think I want to get off now.

I've had subscriptions to Popular Science and National Geographic for most of my adult life, I'll never let my Nat Geo subscription lapse, but I've let Popular Science go a few times over the years. I'm also currently getting Popular Photography and American Photo, I got them in a bundle for really cheap and I've had Psychology Today and The Sporting News off and on, currently not getting either of those, though. I've been considering a subscription to Texas Monthly, if I find a good enough discount I'll grab it. No doubt, magazines have gotten extremely anemic over the years, Hit Parader and Circus Magazine had more content than ads back when I was in high school than the grownup magazines do these days.

Just a followup to what I posted earlier, this months GQ had approx. 175 pages of ads in a 333 page magazine.

Am I just out of touch with magazines nowadays? I ask because I find this totally disgusting.

Yeah, your not out of touch I also find it disgusting. From some of the other posts it appears there are still a few good mags at least.
