Anyone in here into bodybuilding?

I did lift weights for 3 years and was looking good. however i stopped a month ago and can't seem too motivate myself to do it at the moment. Saving money though

I still find anything but the basics confusing so only wanted to look great nude and i think its worth it.

well, that is about priorities.
muscles are not supposed to pay the bills, so why demand this from them?

but I think that keeping yourself in form is something as compulsory, as cleaning your teeth or washing, and at the same time it is a sign of respect to your sexual partner...

Some people prefer to get girls with the money. They spend time on earning money, and it results in a fat ugly guy with sexy chick... But I do not want to be one of that guys, even though he might fuck beautiful girl - their sex is not based on mutual desire. I think it is very important thing - to arouse physical desire in your partner.

For example, if some chick fucks with me cuz I am "very clever", "rich", "kind and interesting" or cuz I am a president of a big company and she wants to recieve a good job and to make a career through that fuck, or if she have any other non-sexual interest - it is not my cup of tea. I do not want it. It won't give me pleasure.

For me sex is interesting only when the girl wants it. And there is no other motivation, expect her lust and desire.

I could imagine two girls: one of them holds a PhD, is very clever and spend a lot of time at the library, thinks about her future, has brilliant career etc... But she does not give a heck about her body. She has different priorities, and spend her time not in a fitness centre or a beauty salon. And the second chick is quite the opposite: she is sexy as hell, and she works a lot to keep herself in shape and to be sexy.
The second one is better to my mind :dunno: ..This is more successfull and better and happy life in my understanding. In general, to be popular among opposite gender - is one of the most important components of happiness! It works in equal measure for males and females. Figurally, I want to be the second chick from my example. Not the first.

So I better do my best to be an object of desire, cuz finally it gives me more happiness than any other activity that I can spend my time on.

That's how I see things. Though, of course, working out does not automatically mean that you don't have no time for the rest things in the life. It is about right balance, as usual, but still body - is very important thing.

My thoughts exactly on the mutual fulfillment aspect. I love when my girl goes nuts in bed and tells me looking at my body makes her cum faster. I just could never feel good about being the guy with money and no body, or luck and no body, who bangs hot chicks, because you know the girl is not getting off from you. Most guys dont care about that though, they just want the hot ass and dont give a **** what the girl thinks about him. I can't do that.

For me lifting and being in fantastic shape provides me with the confidence i need in all walks of life, not just the bedroom. When you workout consistently(with proper form) you feel tight and lean,it gives you the edge that walking on water feeling. I would recommend it to anybody who is in good enough health to exercise.

IMO all the guys who say they never will lift and they mock exercise and fitness, really just have no basis or understanding to take that standpoint. You have to feel what its like to get yourself into good shape,to accomplish a goal where you have transformed your body, before you can knock weightlifting. If you have never felt that feeling that some of us know, then you can't say its not for you, i dont care if you are in a wheelchair you still cant say it. I actually have seen some pretty jacked guys in wheelchairs, they dont workout their legs but they do have awesome upper bodies. That amazes me.

I kinda feel the same way.Now I know some guys that don't like to lift weights, and it almost always comes down to them saying either they don't have enough time,or they just don't like being around a bunch of "meat heads".

I personally think that those excuses are total bullshit. If you don't have time, then I really hope that you are raking in the cash working 80 hours a week, otherwise a couple of days for a couple of hours isn't that hard to swing. And as for the people in the gym,do like everyone else does and just listen to your Ipod and don't mind what anyone else is doing.

For guys that just don't what to workout,it would just be better if they said they just don't give a **** about being in shape, instead of making excuses of why they can't.At least you can't argue with that kind of honesty.

I lift 4 times a week focusing mostly compound freeweight and body weight movements. I love it. I also follow each session with 15-20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise.:yinyang:

One reason I moved to South America is for my health.
Here I have time to keep in shape.

I've been in the gym since I was about 17., I'm 38.

I mostly lift heavy going through periods of high rep also.
Not many machines (I use some for back, legs and triceps)
I do every set until failure, no exceptions.

I see many guys in my gym counting way to much.
Stop at ten or 12 reps regardless.
This will not make you grow.
You must do every set until failure to ***** growth.By pushing the muscle to its extreme will make it grow, its natural response.
So my cycle is one body part per day (about 1-1 1/2 hours) followed by some cardio if I have time or energy, eat clean and try to ***** well.
Thats it.

Unless somebody is one of the very rare people where an insane amount of ultra volume training works for them, where they are not wasting their time or overtraining, I would say that if somebody is doing 10 or 12 reps and not getting near to failure they just plain don't have enough weight on, have bad form, or both. It's rare where you have to do more reps than that in a set. About the only thing I ever do more than that on in a set is with abominal, forearm, and calf exercises and once in a great while squats if I really feel like pushing it.

true.
For example I usually start with a weight in which I can do about 15 reps working up to a weight where i can do about 4 , or even one, usually within 5 sets.
many times for the 2nd or last exercise per particular body part I will pyramaid down in weight for a nice burn.
For legs I like high rep stuff, 25 - maybe 8 reps minimum.

Hear me now and listen to me later, I'm saying that regardless of the amount of weight, I see way too many people just counting and stopping at a decided number of reps, almost never going to failure.
I tell them c'mon man, you could have done 3 or 4 more.
But most don't get it, or theyre just afraid.

I used to lift weights 4 to 5 times a week, but now that I have a ****** I don't go to gym at all but I still want to exercise and have a fit body. I am thinking about purchasing P90X and the Iron Gym so I can exercise at home. I have seen the informercial and I think it's exactly what I need. The Iron Gym lets me do the pull up at home. If anyone has used P90X please let me know if it's worth the purchase.

I haven't personally used it but I know many people that have and I hear if you stick to it it's great. Not so much a mass gaining workout but great for getting you ripped.

I workout quite a bit, I'd go through my routine and why I do it but I'm short on time right now.

Its good to shock the body after a long period of doing low reps(1-4), medium(4-8) etc, all done in 3 or 4 sets.Eventually you will plateau unless you are juicing.
It is a good idea to try the 25 reps for 5 sets scheme. If you haven't tried it yet do it for 2 weeks and then we will talk.It will definitely spur new growth.Try it just for 2 weeks, then get back on your normal routine.
Don't be scared to try something new, i was against the 25x5 thing at first then i did it,and i was humbled...it *****.

I really need to get my ass back to the gym. I haven't lifted in almost 2 months and I know the first few times getting back in my routine is going to ****.

Eventually everybody will plateau, even people who do juice. Depending on what they do, and their genetics some people just plateau at different points. After a while you just do more to make incremental gains. It's the nature of the game otherwise pretty much all bodybuilders would be the size of an gorilla after doing it for years. I will say that while shocking the muscle has some ***** benefits, and it's good to do every now and again, I also think it’s effects are often overrated.

To change things up I just do an different type of lift for that muscle group. The lighter weights for more reps just don't do anything for me. (Although neither does HIT for that matter.) If I do more reps than normal it's probably something where I'm doing post failure reps. I will sometimes do dropdown sets until I can't lift even light weight, but I never start with a lighter weight or just do lighter weight except for some warm up reps if I need them.

i do it to keep my tone....works for me

Ahem.Ronnie Coleman ring any bells? Ever since growth hormone and all the other peptides and IGF growth factors bodybuilders are bigger than ever. Genetics are being pushed way beyond natural limits.

But for the average gym rat who lifts and juices for recreation/cosmetic purposes, you have to change your routine with such things like you said, drop sets, tri sets, rest-pause, HIT, etc.Otherwise you just hit a sticking point.
For anyone starting out for the first time, i would say stick to the basics, start with machines the first couple weeks, learn the simple free weight exercises, and do compound movements. You will gain quickly and love the results.

Pound that ****. Not me Johnny boy, i got a girl to smash out, you should try it sometime.

for the guys that dont workout...remember...there is not a damn thing we can do about gravity
