Anyone here hates RNB as much as I do?

I just can't stand that bullshit. It's all commercial crap, made for teenage girls. I don't mind if you listen to a type of music that I normally don't listen to as long it isn't rnb cuz I hate that sugar coated shit. I especially hate all the male rnb singers (akon, chris brown,) because they all crap and sound like a pussy.

What bout you people?

Yeah R&B has always been complete shyte in my eyes. Back in the Motown days it was definitely cool but modern R&B is revolting to say the least. It's where all the dorks with poor rhyming skills and DOA rap careers go to sing about their shorties and being in love and all that shit. Manufactured garbage!

I love it, you're a wanker!

I'm just kidding. I hate it, but what's the point of all this?

I'd say more people like it than dislike it, but there are many people that will share your same taste in music. Maybe you just need to get out more and meet new people.

Huh? I've got friends who listen to RnB and I don't talk about music with them, but then I've got friends who listen to Real Hip-Hop and music is about the only subject matter we talk bout LOL So I don't get what u mean with meeting new people.

Oh Ok. I just got the impression that you were having a hard time finding people that dislike R&B, since you made a thread asking for such people to announce themselves.

I pretty much loathe everything that they play on the radio from after the mid 1990's.

Yep, same way i feel, makes it worse being a college student, the majority of people listen to it and to me it all sounds too the same. R&B i hate but i am a fan of old Rap/Hip-Hop where there lyrics were actually about life and the hardships. All i hear today is about how some girl can fuck and is a slut (seems to be all women are in music today) how they own several guns and they will pop a cap out the window of some shitty but expensive car. It sounds like someone reading off a shopping list to a beat.

I have a lady friend that says I should listen to lil wayne. I don't know about, that he seems like a joke to me. She also says that she can't stand DMX, and while I am not super crazy about him, I would think that LW was just an inferior DMX.

Of course DMX is just an inferior Tupac, so really do we need to listen to anything else?

DMX is a good rapper with hardcore music and some music that appeals to "normal" people as well, lil'wayne is bullshit don't listen to that. LOL how can you compare DMX to some punk like lil'wayne?

well I've never heard lil wayne. But based on what you've said, I think it will stay that way.

listen to him if you wan't to hear someone try to get as many rhymes off the words Lolly Pop and as a result repeat his rhymes whilst he has his voiced synthesised because he can't sing...

DMX is good when your in that angry mood, can be quite cathartic.

You said it man!

That freaks me out that the majority listen to it. Can't teach good taste eh?
A neighbor of mine had his radio tuned to pop/r&b the other morning, and although I couldn't hear the lows at all, I swear the same song was playing for 53 minutes. Sadly, I look down on people who just hear music rather than listen to it. R&B is so empty and obvious, I am at a loss to explain why it's so popular.(of course, the videos are more important than the music these days)

"I like it because its got a good beat." - I've heard this excuse so often from people when I call them out for listening to crap. If they knew anything about music, they'd use the word rhythm not beat. They like the shit because it has the same qualities of all the previous shit they've adored because it was on the radio. "That's some catchy shit man!!!" Chris Rock

You can make a hit song with one simple element. The clap-snare as I call it, works every fuckin time. You know the one where the snare drum hit is softened as a hands-clap sound(50 cent "its your birthday" or whatever) - it's so fucking money in making a song "sound cool" to the half-wits who buy this shit.

R&B sucks arse!:thefinger

The voice synthesized shit is really bothering me. Akon, Kanye West, this Lil Wayneo dork...when something catchy catches on, they run with it hard.

A few years back, finger-picked guitar notes were popular over the beats.

More recently, every R&B song had to have a rapid-beat between the main beats, a la Timbaland style

And now it's all about the voice synthesizer...and the people can't get enough

:tongue:Sure I may be a bit snobby about music, but I have respect for almost all types/genres. I hate but one. R&B is just the worst, a mix of rap and pop that has zero substance and zero originality.

To those who enjoy it, it's all good for now - but if you reach your thirties and are still loving R&B, something is really fucked up about you. :hatsoff:

I hate it more than you. I bet.
Every friend of my knows it.

I love hip-hop/rap, but r'n'b and blend of rap with that bullshit whack singing is so fucked up, that make me wanna "krush, kill & destroy"

I physically can't stand that sound.

I don't like it, but nobody has ever forced me to listen to it, so I simply don't.

Because of that, I can't say I hate it.
