Anyone else wanna smack those global warming deniers in the face?

I believe like some of you that that there is no "global warming" per se but we humans are just contributing to Earth's natural climate cycle, yes we pollute, but it's not enough to tip the balance like the scientists in Gore's pocket say. We would be so far ahead than we are now in clean energy technologies, and every thing alse if we didn't spend just 2.8 cents per tax dollar on science and technology it was from a story in my local newspaper, we have got to put more of every tax dollar into science, but i am afraid that Obama and his cabinet are just going to put thier scientific aggs in one basket and just focus on clean energy.

mainly Co2 which is harmless

The large quantities of Co2 emissions make it very harmful. Co2 is a greenhouse gas (though not as efficient as some other gases) and in a large quantity Co2 can warm the planet, it can melt the poles and cause a dramatic temperature change in the oceans, which in turn will wreak havoc with global weather patterns. The damage is already done, it's irreversible.

Well, kind of hard to classify me as such when I voted for Nader and Baldwin in the past. :D Pro-war? Me? Not even close. I would classify myself more along the lines of isolationist, neutral stance type people. :)

You sure know how to classify others though...

To each their own anyway...

WTF??!??!

i thought at least here, where we fight the fight against the mind police who don't want you to see any skin, people would stop and look at facts instead of hype...

1) temperatures have NOT climbed globally now for more than a year.
2) cyclical temperature changes HAVE occurred previously.
3) even if we are warming, warming is preferrable to cooling... ask the orange growers in Florida what frost does

the problem is not whether global warming is real or not, but the way AlGore et al rant that it IS fact, that it IS caused by man, & that because of that, their idea of what is right for all mankind should be not only endorsed, but enforced...

sure I'd like to drive a car that gets 100 mpg. I'd love to never spend another penny helping out Saudis so their Wahabbi zealots can **** innocents (& take additional innocents & twist their young minds to serve the twisted idea of right & just). I'd even prefer a house that wasn't built on the skeletons of trees heated & cooled by ineffective energy...

BUT, not if it cannot be done at a cost that at least approaches what I am paying now. And with Cap and Trade taxation, gas taxes, and the fact that wind, solar, & hybrid tech is still more expensive than what exists... ignoring that too many refuse to consider 'intermediate' ***** such as cleaner coal (see... not clean... cleaner... here in Kansas 1 new plant would produce more power with less pollution but the HHS secretary vetoed it repeatedly) and nuclear while endorsing the idea that the government should be able to outlaw incandescent lights (imagine how your favorite centerfold will look made up under fluorescent lighting) or now what sort of food you can eat...

the slide to fascism can be made at either end of the political spectrum.

so until the chicken littles shut up and let us work ******y step to a reasonable solution (a process I whole heartedly endorse) count me among those who need to be slapped.

PS EAH... if that's really you, the best live show I ever saw was in KC at Bazooka's in 98... your ****** laughed about my Pooh Bear tie while I had you sign your PoY mag for my then ****** sons!

heh

Deniers of global climate change? Yes.

People who arrogantly think humans can or do control the temperature of the planet? Yes.

People who deny anthropogenic climate change? Not so much.

People who are so anti-GW that it makes them think pollution is OK? Yes.

How many carbonated beverages do you ***** in a day? How many times a day do you exhale? Who is John Galt?

There is a chance to be somewhere in the middle on this issue, no? Pollution is bad, but some usage of resources is necessary. If all someone can do is worry about an issue, or criticize others, that is not being part of any possible solution. Perhaps telling the truth and civil communication rather than politicizing is the answer to something which affects us all.

Question is, how will all those taxes and regulations will regulate the climate? Will doing what environmenazis really do something to solve global warming? I've heard it was too late anyway.

The thing is that a lot of measures, like the Kyoto Accord, will only turn developed nations into third world nations. Imagine for a moment this scenario, you were diagnosed with cancer, doc says you got 6 months to live but with an experimental (and very expensive treatment) you can live for 8 months. You got $100,000 in the bank and the treatment is (surprise) $100,000 for only two more months of life, is it worth it? Or would you rather leave that money for your ******?

Same thing with what we ALL would have to pay for increased taxes or increased costs in regulations, is it worth paying so much extra just to TRY to "decrease" the average world temperature .02 degrees?

My problem is not with the science, if global warming is actually ocurring, fine, if it's just a natural earth temperature cycle, fine. My problem is with the unnecessary hysteria that's being caused, even worse than this swine flu, my problem is that for a lot of people it's NOT about the science, just that they really do believe it's happening when it may not even be happening, in other words, they're confusing faith with reasoning.

It's just human nature. Our nature is that we need to have faith in something, whether it's God, Allah, Buddah, ****** Nature, Obama, Science, Satan, Government, the Environment, Rush Limbaugh, Jesus, Jebus, Intellect, or the Great Pumpkin. In other words, even Atheists have faith in something.
kyoto accords will turn us into a 3rd world country? limbaugh, beck or hannity?

I don't want to smack them in the face, but I think it is logical to assume that the Earth has and will continue to have cooling and warming periods. I believe we are in a slight cooling period at this time. People that strongly believe in global warming are just believing in what they want. Some of these people just support for more a personal social cause - i.e. to make friends. Other support it to make money.

I don't know if it makes the slightest difference to global warming but pumping out all the CO2 and whatever other pollution from industry and power generation can't be doing anyones health any good. Thankfully the western world have woken up to the problem and are taking ***** (okay, small ***** ) to slow or halt the process. It's just a pity China and Japan (and others I've no doubt) choose not to give a ****

I don't deny globalwarming exists, it's just not caused by us and there is **** all we can do to stop it.

It isn't really helpful to call CO2 a pollutant. In any case only 3% of the CO2 produced is from human activity.CO2 levels have been vastly higher in the past than they are now. It's the stuff that makes plants grow!
Not much is known about the actual greenhouse effect of the gas (which bear in mind is only about 1 part in 3000 of the atmosphere) because the models break down. What is known is that it's a slight effect and not a linear one ie doubling the CO2 doesn't double the effect.

A recent update on the melting ice cap. It looks like the melting could indeed cause the ocean level to rise - despite "1st year University physics".

It will be later rather than sooner, but it is important ***** be taken to protect vulnerable cities and shores now.

Unless, of course, it is part of the Illuminati plot to bring on a new world order, **** billions, and put themselves in charge of the left over survivors.

If Global Warming was a scientific fact and our climates really were getting warmer all over the globe, then why did it snow here in Cleveland not too long ago?

It's May 1st today and the Cleveland area is set to have highs in the 50's this weekend. That's not Spring-like weather if you ask me. It's not warmer either; it's colder.

Global Warming? No, sorry.

You're confusing weather with climate. Climate change is when the anomalies in weather patterns shift in quantity and quality.

If the climate is warming you can still have below average temperatures or even set some new low records from time to time. But the overall trend, over years and decades, is warming, and more extremes, more severe weather.

Actually, it's the opposite for me: I'd rather smack those tree-hugging, Michael Moore groupie, left-wing Al Gore dicksuckers in the face. :yesyes::hatsoff::thumbsup:

Amen and +1 and you might as well try to slap me in the face because i am one of those deniers. It all bullshit to me. I gotta few years to live, so i really don't give a fuck in the first place....
