Anybody Ever Have Kidney Stones?

I've had them twice. Dizzy, nauseous. Blood in the urine. Pissing red-orange. Admitted to the hospital emergency room twice. Pain comes in from the back. But it radiates to other places. Pain could be in the groin, upper thigh, abdomen, etc. The stones could be on the left side, but the pain radiates to the right etc. etc. Avoid tea. Iced tea. I was drinking about four to six bottles of iced tea a day ... that's how the second outbreak occurred. Also dark sodas some green vegetables. Tea, green vegetables and dark sodas have a chemical called oxolates which don't metabolize in the blood. This causes the stones to not be excreted through the urine. So the stones could build up in the urethra, the ureter, the bladder, and the kidneys themselves. I was treated with a catheter into my penis and given an IV bottle of saline solution. Very painful three days in the hospital. The second and much better way, was a lithotripsy machine (looks like a very large x-ray machine) and they blasted sound waves into my back. That broke up the stones in three days. I was given Vicodin and Oxycodone too. I had to collect them in a specimen bottle. I had calcium stones. There is also uric acid stones.

Stones develop during the summer, so drink plenty of fluids. My urologist recommends at least 3 to 4 liters of fluids a day. Water is very good. Flushes you out. And you piss clear not yellow. You want clear.

I'm pretty sure I did, but since I never go to the doctor, I can't confirm. I self-diagnosed on WebMD.

Anyways, I drank this nasty concoction of apple cider vinegar and other stuff and I think it dissolved it.

no, not fun at all.

A really good tip to prevent kidney stones is to drink cranberry juice or, better yet, a cranberry fruit supplement on a daily basis. Doing so keeps the pH levels inside your urinary track low and discourages the precipitation of calcium (which is the element that comprises a kidney stone). Another benefit you get is that keeping the pH low will help prevent URIs as well since most pathogens that cause them do not do well under acidic conditions. Knock on wood but I have never had a kidney stone, have not had a URI in 30 years and I take 4200 mg of cranberry fruit concentrate twice a day. Highly recommended!
