Any of you fucking liberals in here care to explain this?

Term limits. In NYC the limit was 2 for mayor till Bloomberg decided he wanted a 3rd term. He sends a bill down to the city council and they rubber stamp it. Voters had no say in the matter.

Me too. Don't wait every 4 years to vote, do it every time there is any kind of election in your district. Keep the good ones and vote the **** out. If my school wants me to pay more money to them then I want to know why and who thinks this a good idea. Now I get 2 votes. 1 for who brought up this idea and another for my decision to spend the money.

You'd have to stagger the states/districts so that you don't have a complete change every period. Perhaps a one and out 6 year staggered term may work. I know what you're saying, but I believe the problems we're having now are caused by constant running for re-election. The lobbyist are spending incredible amounts of money n the re-election campaigns.

Mike I would like to point out couple more things I think are real flaws in the idea of term limits. While I totally agree about the influence of lobby's I don't see how term limits would do anything about it,in fact I think it would make it much worse.
The lobbys would still be there just buying the new members each election as they would still need money to run. And consider how even now lobby's can buy members not only by campaign contributions but the promise of after you are done in govt you can come to work for us for REAL big bucks. Now if a member could not run again he very well might not care at all what people who elected him want but be concerned with his personal future when he is ****** out and really sell out to the lobby's. What other profession in the world would we say experience is a bad thing? Want to see real chaos in our country, get a bunch of noobs running the show lol.

I don't think it should be a profession. It should be a service. I may be a bit idealistic.
We don't agree on this one.

Chances are, I'll never be proven wrong because while I think it is a good idea, I will never be voted on by the politicians who want to make it a lifetime career.
