The rumour is that Zappa introduced Hendrix to the wah wah pedal in Cafe' Wha?. However, I have no sources to back this up. Can anyone help me?

At the time Hendrix was playing sets in the Scene club in NYC in July 1967, he met Frank Zappa, whose Mothers of Invention were playing the adjacent Garrick Theater, and he was reportedly fascinated by Zappa's recently-purchased wah-wah pedal. Hendrix immediately bought one from Manny's and starting using it right away on the sessions for both sides of his new single, and slightly later, on several jams recorded at Ed Chalpin's studio.

Yeah, "he was reportedly fascinated" makes me nervous. I had that much on my own. How 'bout the solid facts, without the careful language?

Additionally, if you listen to early masters, there's wah-wah earlier than the Chalpin studio days.

I'm not sure this is a solvable mystery...

 F.Z. is the best!!

Was King of the Board for a Day
I do love his music, and he was a very interesting human being as well. My dad has a whole bunch of his records and I grew up listening to them since I was like, 5 years old. Timeless, timeless stuff.

Overnight Sensation is one of the greatest albums ever.

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Absolutely, without a doubt, one of the greatest guitar players to ever grace music...and truly a phenomenal songwriter.

Anyone that doesn't love Frank Zappa, can't possibly love there mom...or apple pie, or America.

Personally, I can't even begin to think about all of the great musicians he's worked with, but I do really like Jean Luc Ponty.

My favorite songs are probably "The Illinois Enema Bandit", from the "Live In New York" album, and "Magdalena", from "Just Another Band From L.A."

when i first joined the board and was trying to choose a name, i had a hard time choosing between G-Spot Tornado and meesterperfect.
I went with meester because I didn't want to seem like i was bragging.
