Their TALK about changing it says a lot but their lack of action speaks volumes. They have been talking about it for years. Bush got a law passed to build a fence....where's that fence? Come on dude. without cheap (illegal) labor the corporations won't know what to do.

I guarantee the back office discussions go like this Agricultural Company tells politician "Make all the noise you want but if you want our money you won't do shit about it when it comes down to it." the politician cashes the check rants and raves about illegals and then does nothing about it.

Every one of us who were born in the US came from immigrants. This entire country is based on immigrants. We have millions of jobs in this country that are unfilled yet millions of people are out of work? How does that math ad up to you? We have people from Mexico who are skilled labor and unskilled alike who are willing to do those jobs and do them well.

See who rots in jail and see who has the best salaries and best job positions. Some job positions require high experience, higher education and lot of braincells and where as other require plhysical strenght and endurance. In a lot of firms, you only get recruited by string pulling if you are known indirectly by a recruiter/head hunter or by the human resources manager or a director of the firm where you are applying. Firms want quality workers and with references, not people on which they have no visibility and no confidence. If you want to find a job fast, then being a civil servant is a solution.
