Slate Turkey: White Meat Is Racist

At this point it can’t be easy for liberals to push their absurd ideology ever deeper into self-parody. Yet they manage:

Just before Thanksgiving last week, the liberal site Slate dredged up a 2010 piece claiming that the reason Americans love the white meat on a turkey is because we are all racists.

Ron Rosenbaum pondered the timeless philosophical question of why some people prefer white meat.

“It was enough to make me wonder whether there could be a racial, if not racist, subtext here,” he wrote.

Before long Rosenbaum had worked himself into a full lather, spewing spittle as he raved:

“Despite its superior taste, dark meat has dark undertones for some. Dark meat evokes the color of earth, soil. Dark meat seems to summon up ancient fears of contamination and miscegenation as opposed to the supposed superior purity of white meat. I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that white meat remains the choice of a holiday that celebrates Puritans.”

Needless to say, if liberal ideology had any validity whatsoever, moonbats wouldn’t be so hard pressed to find racism that isn’t directed against whites.

We already did. Apparently he's outgrown it.

She's in St. Louis, and yet an intelligent, attractive and independent woman. Therefore, some form of misspelling, while still getting her point across, is the only option open to her.

It's not a misspelling. It's just using the accepted British English term.

But every time someone from 'Merica uses the British term, the terrorists win. And nobody wants that.

I'm taking the bait.

First, that's absolutely ridiculous. White meat has absolutely nothing to do with racism.

Second, I think you're getting your liberals confused with your conservatives. Liberals are open minded people who strive for equality, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of choice. Conservatives typically oppose those ideas. So... that article is describing conservatives, it just doesn't realize it.

See for yourself, how absolutely wrong you are.

Harley, you have just changed the subject. Sam's piece was nothing but a silly thing he found that was amusing. Your stated views of the differences between Liberals and Conservatives is complete bunk from first word to last. I can pick apart each one of your accusations but to save space I will pick just one for now.

Freedom of speech? Political correctness was born in the left. Censureship on all points emerge from there. You want to shut down conservative talk and television. It was Al and his wife Tipper Gore that launched congressional hearings to put lables on music. Video games have ratings now. That came from the left.
