I’m no lawyer but Sessions is a prosecutor and prosecutors tend to be biased in their opinion of whether or not someone is guilty and deserves to be locked up. If he had chanted “ lock her up” while wearing a Hillary for prison shirt he could do so as long as he has evidence to support his opinion.
I think I have even heard prosecutors suggest to a jury that someone be found guilty and put behind bars. I’m pretty sure that I saw that on Law & Order or Matlock or something.

1) No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger
5th amendment to the US Constitution

By igniting that chant, as a member of the government, Sessions stands of the brink of that amendment (I said "on the brink", I did not said he violated it)
By igniting such a chant, as a memeber of the gobvernment, he's on the brink of the 5th amendment

2) Trump himself said he wouldn't even try to prosecute Hillary. So if these people want Hillary behind bars, sorry, the man who promised you that, live on national TV, broke his promises days after the election...

3) You "saw that on Law & Order or Matlock or something" ? Newsflash : these are TV SHOWS, not real justice. These people are actors, not prosecutors, attorneys, lawyers etc. You call Fox News "fake news" but you get your infos about how the justice system works through at TV show ?! We have this tradition in this country, and one of the things that separates us from the banana republics of the world, is that after an election, the victor does not go after his political opponent or predecessor by prosecuting them and throwing them in jail. Candidate Obama hinted at prosecuting the Bush Admin for using enhanced interrogation like waterboarding but once elected, President Obama let that go despite the calls from his base.

That sucks, because I really want to see Hillary face legal consequences for what she did, but on balance maybe it's a good thing that precedent is in place. That whole peaceful transition of power thing.

That's not exactly the same. It would be if Nixon had served out his term and the next President (Jimmy Carter) then went after him.

Nixon was two years short of finishing his second term. Ford said he pardoned Nixon “ for the good of the country and to start the healing process”.He actually pardoned him because he knew damn well they wanted to see Nixon behind bars. Clinton’s crimes are worse than Nixon’s, some of Obama’s abuses may be worse than Nixon’s. The only difference is that Nixon’s were discovered while he was in office. Obama and Clinton, after they were in office. So they get off Scott free because we didn’t discover it in time?
Nah, I understand your sentiment, but to hell with this tradition of not prosecuting political opponents if they did wrong. It’s not like it will happen routinely. They are trying to prosecute this sitting president and he hasn’t done shit.
